Merry Monday #97 - Color Challenge

Good morning friends.  Playing along with the Merry Monday challenge today, which is to use Aqua, White, & Silver on your card.  Love these colors together, had an idea already in my head, and thought this would be a quick card to make!  We all know how those tend to work out, don't we?!  Yep, my simple and quick card turned out to be quite time consuming and looking back, quite comical too!  I love using dies and using the technique where you in-lay them.  I used PTI's "Wonderful Words: Holiday Die Collection" (Peace) and a intricate snowflake die (Memory Box) and forgot that because I offset the snowflake to the side and overlapping a bit of the word "Peace", that I would have little pieces (VERY TINY pieces to be exact!!) to replace on the card.  Can you see where I'm going with this story?  Yup, after die cutting the pieces, I dumped all the remaining VERY TINY pieces in my trash...grrrrr!!  And of course while trying to find those VERY TINY pieces, I had more help than I wanted with both dogs trying to get their noses in the wastebasket too to see if maybe I had dropped some food in there!  So it wasn't so comical yesterday, but I can smile about it today!  And I did find the pieces (although why I didn't just cut new ones and save myself all that time.......) and finally was able to complete my card!  Take a look:

I used retired ink Cool Caribbean (SU!) and cs, and for the snowflake, I used silver holographic cs (Michael's).  The stamped snowflakes are from PTI's "In The Meadow" stamp set.  I added a few iridescent sequins and twine (Caribbean by The Twinery) to finish the card.

Thanks for sticking with my loooooooong story and taking a look!  Make sure you check out all the other beautiful cards over at the Merry Monday site here

Have a wonderful Wednesday friends, and stay warm if you're in my "neck of the woods".  "No winter lasts forever.  No spring skips its turn."  :0)

What a beautiful snowflake and I'd say the outcome of the card was worth any bit of trouble to fish tiny pieces of scrap from the trashcan! I can certainly identify with you. Been there and done that! Thanks for sharing this with us at Merry Monday!
