Create Along With Us - September 2015

Hello friends.  Papertrey Ink has started a new challenge during release week where we are to choose a card by one of the designers and be inspired to create our own card.  Easier than it sounds when there is SO much to be inspired by!!  One of the cards that really caught my eye during this weeks release was by Melissa Phillips and a card she did using the Petite Places: Nativity.  Obviously not having that set (yet!), I had to improvise, and used the same basic layout as Melissa's but did mine in a Halloween theme.  Take a look:

I used Petite Places: Spook Manor stamp set all along the bottom of my card...for such small stamps, there sure is a LOT of detail packed into this tiny stamp set!!  Just above the this I stamped repeatedly using the "trick or treat" from the Keep it Simple: Halloween stamp set in Smoky Slate ink, and then placed a banner stamped in black over the lighter gray.  I used a piece of black dotted DSP for the top half, and added the ghosts from Haunted Borders between the DSP and trick or treat words.  I added a sheer white ribbon with an orange button and bakers twine to finish off the top half.  Here is Melissa's Christmas card:

Ptini1

Isn't it beautiful?!!!  I can't wait till my order comes and I can make my own card like this!!  I just love all the detail Melissa puts into her cards!!

If you'd like to play along with this challenge, you can find all the information right HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...I love it when you do!! :0)

This is so creative, Marcia!! That border of ghosts is so cool! I love how you tilted the sentiment banner just like that Christmas die!

Marcia, you are so smart to use the Halloween set in place of the nativity for now. Love your card and can't wait to see what you make with the new stamps. I was only going to get the nativity stamp then I placed two more orders and bought all but the boxes.
