Make It Monday #239 - Customizing Patterned Paper

Hello friends.  This week Lizzie Jones has a fun tutorial over at the Make It Monday site...taking a piece of patterned paper and dressing it up a bit.  I started with a piece of Harvest Gold patterned paper, some Classic Kraft ink, and the Polka Dot Basics stamp set and came up with this:

After randomly stamping some of the small dots and open circles on the patterned paper I added the flower from Rosie Posie and Rosie Posie Step 2 with Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse, and Ripe Avocado inks.  The sentiment is from Think Big Favorites: #22.  A little bit of jute and an enamel dot finished up my card.  Easy, and a lot of fun!  I will definitely be looking at patterned paper in a whole new way now...thanks Lizzie!!  :0)

There's still a little bit of time to play along with this challenge....just head over to Nichole's site right HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...I love it when you do!  :0)

This is a fun way to make the card even more your own. I love how you dressed up this paper and then added the flower. Love the banner and ow it accents the pattern on your card.

Wow, I never would have thought to use kraft with the Harvest Gold! I love it! The kraft stamped dots pull the whole scheme and card together; so creative! I'm pinning this one for future reference;)

You made this paper look like designer, and perfectly stamped too! Echoing Jeni, never would think of yellow and kraft looking so good together. But it softens the bright yellow just enough. Lovely, lovely card!

Lovely card and especially like how your use of kraft and white toned down the bright yellow! I'm wishing they would sell a package of all the colors in the large dot pattern now.

Very cute. I love the little pop of color you add to the circle that coordinates so well with the strip you sentiment is stamped on. A really lovely card!!!
