Color Hues #120 - Purple & Orange

Hello friends.  It's time for another challenge here at Color Hues and our sweet hostess Stef is looking for PURPLE & ORANGE for the next 2 weeks.

My first thought was Halloween but I went in a Fall direction instead as I already had my Halloween cards done.  I had new dies from PB called abstract pumpkins and they were my starting point.  Take a look...

I love the size and shape of these pumpkins and die cut them from sandable cardstock, which I have become quite addicted to lately!  The pitcher is also PB (handpicked) and stamped and die cut from more of the sandable cs.

For my background I used Gina K's Thick Brush stencil and lightly blended purple ink to tie in a little more color to the card.  The die cut flowers and leaves are from Honey Bee's Lovely Layers: Autumn Bouquet and I finished with my die cut sentiment from MB's Just a Note Posh Script.  Simple but I really like the Autumn vibes this card gives off!

The DT and our Special GD Bobby have lots of awesome and fun inspiration to get you started and you can check it all out right HERE.  This challenge is open till Wednesday, Oct. 29th @ 9:00AM.

Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

  1. A beautiful pumpkins and watering can floral arrangement, Marcia. I want a real life version for my front door; pretty, eye-catching and definitely a creative, wonderfully inspired way to showcase the challenge colours.

  2. This is just perfect for those colors. It's nice to see these colors being used in a non-halloween way. The scale of both work perfectly together.

  7. Marcia, I'm so glad you made a card to show other uses of this color combination and what a stunning card it is! The soft stenciling in the background is so eye catching, as is the beautiful vase of autumn florals. I remember sandable paper by Bazille from years ago; is that the brand you're using? Anyway, all in all, simply a gorgeous card!

  12. I'm glad I enabled the Autumn Bouquet and you may just have enabled those fabulous pumpkins, Marcia. I've been debating since I don't make many Fall or Thanksgiving cards but I sure do love the look of them, especially with the pitcher of dried flowers. I'm sad I gave away most my sandable paper years ago.

  16. Marcia, this fall arrangement is just beautiful! The sandable cs is fabulous for the pumpkins, florals, and the pitcher! I think I used to have some of that, but I have no idea what happened to it. It's just perfect here.
