I did the same as Nichole by creating a leaf stencil to use first, and then I went a "slightly" different route than Nichole. I used Versamark and the small flower center from Funky Florals, and stamped all along the insides of my stencil. Next I used some sponge daubers and Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Canyon Clay, Harvest Gold, & Summer Sunrise inks, and rubbed on the color until you could see the design come through. If you click to enlarge the photo, you can see it even better. Here's a closer up shot too:
I hadn't used the resist technique in quite awhile, so it was fun to see the "magic" appear! I finished my card with a sentiment from Mum's The Word and some baker's twine. And here's Nichole's card that inspired me:
Isn't Nichole's a beauty with just the simple stamping inside the stencil of the leaves? Love it!! :0)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall colors, Marcia. Such a great take on Nicole's card.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors! I love the little burst of pattern throughout!
ReplyDeleteLove this gorgeous card, Marcia, and such a cool technique. So you just stamp with Versamark ink and then sponge on colours? You don't first have to heat set the Versamark? The Versamark glue doesn't get smudged? Can you tell I've never done this technique :)
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous Marcia! The results are amazing. I've never tried this technique either...
ReplyDeleteFantastic card, Marcia!! Great take on Nichole's card!!
ReplyDeleteOh my what a beautiful card! It's so fun to see how you used the inspiration card =) Did you have to emboss the versamark? or just left it plain and added color on top? I'll have to try this out =)
