Make it Monday #237 - Matchbook Valentines

Hello friends.  Lexi Daly and PTI's Make it Monday challenge this week is all about making matchbook treat holders for Valentine's Day.  Lexi has some awesome ideas and a great video on how to make these little treat holders, and they are a LOT of fun to make!  I actually made one last year...you can check it out HERE.  I made 2 new ones this week...take a look:

The one on the left I used PTI's Heart Squared and Wonderful Words: Love stamps and dies to create a shaker matchbook.  It does make it a little bulky and top heavy (I layered 4 of the square die cuts with a piece of acetate between the top two to create enough depth for the sequins to move around in), but it's still fun!  I stamped the small hearts frame with Hibiscus Burst, Lovely Lady, & Sweet Blush to give an ombre effect, and then used a matte finish gold cardstock for the Love diecut and strip along the bottom flap.  My 2nd matchbook I made a little bigger and used Hawaiian Shores cardstock and then stamped dots with the Polka Dot Basics stamp set.  I used the Stitched Hearts dies to make another shaker element like Heather Nichols showed HERE a few weeks back with a solid heart cut from Pure Poppy cs and a clear heart cut from acetate, and then both stitched together with a few sequins in between the layers.  The sentiment from Heart Squared was stamped before I stitched the 2 together.  The red & white polka dot strip is a piece of washi tape (Michael's I think).  Both of these were quick and easy and lots of fun to make!  Try a few (or more!)...they're quite addicting and will make a great little gift for anyone at Valentine's Day!!

You can check out Lexi's great video and ideas right HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...I love it when you do!!  :0)
