HLS April CASE the Designer - Joyce Mehrberg

Hello friends.  I have been seeing some absolutely stunning cards from the challenge over at Happy Little Stampers April CASE the Designer - Joyce Mehrberg, and just had to try my hand at it!  Here is Joyce's card:


And here is my CASE of Joyce's card:

 
 
I started with a PTI's Peonies On Parade watercolor panel and a Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangle die and cut out the center of the watercolor panel.  Next I watercolored the flowers and leaves on this center cut out panel using my Aqua Painter and Orange Zest, Raspberry Fizz, & Simply Chartreuse inks.  After piecing the two pieces back together, I used SSS's Prayers stamp and die set for my sentiment.  This really is a fun technique, and totally makes a BIG statement with the black and white border and colorful inside panel...thanks Joyce for such an inspiring card to CASE!!  :0)

    Gorgeous Marcia! These peonies are beautifully done in water colors. Makes me wish I had gotten the peonies... my enabling friend. ;0)

    Love this Marcia!! those flowers are fun to color with water colors! I love this technique too, hope I remember to use it more often!

    Oh my, I am simply in love with your gorgeous card. Love all those pretty peonies and how you selectively colored the center panel. Such a pretty riot of colors--really looks like spring and summer. Thanks so very much for playing along at HLS Case the Designer and for CASEing me.

    What a gorgeous card Marcia and such a great take on Joyce's lovely card. I love the striking die cut sentiment - it really pops.
