Hello friends. I had to laugh this week when LINDA posted a card using a Mama Elephant stamp set called Butterfly Kisses, that she had had sitting on her desk for a month and not used...I had that same stamp set sitting on my desk for about a month now too, and had just gotten around last weekend to making a card with it! I hadn't posted the card I made because I wasn't too happy with it, but told Linda I'd post it so she could see what I had done with it. So this was my first attempt:
It's ok, but definitely not one of my better coloring projects! I used my Copics to color the flower and leaves, and some distress ink was blended in the center of the circle. I really love the sentiments that come with this set, so that makes the card redeemable in my eyes! :0)
My next two attempts were much better, and I used the emboss resist technique on these:
My second card is pretty similar to my first card...just turned it vertically, used different colors, and changed the sentiment. The 3rd card I used some patterned paper for the background and the sentiment is from the new SOA box set (the "You" is diecut and the rest stamped).
I feel much better now that I used this stamp set for 3 cards. I hate it when I buy stuff and then it sits there and never gets used...grrrr!! I admit I get too easily sucked in by all the hoopla with new releases, and then just get overwhelmed with too much new stuff all at once and don't end up playing with any of it! So yes, it is a sickness, but I truly have no desire to be cured!! :0)
Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend to all you moms out there!! :0)
Very pretty Marcia!
ReplyDeleteOh Marcia, you're killing me!! Now I'm thinking I need this set too! These cards are beautiful! I'm so loving the second two. The colors are just fabulous and I love the pink with white polka dots!! So fun!
ReplyDeleteMarcia, this are so beautiful. Love all the colors. I'm glad you said that it was a stamp set cause I thought it was from my Copics class.
ReplyDeleteYour watercolouring is to perfection, Marcia! Lovely set of cards and my preference tends to go the second one too!

Wow--good job making 3 cards with that set you'd never used, Marcia! I love them all, but especially the second one--just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely selection of cards Marcia - I always love it when I see one set used in different ways!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE what you did with this stamp!! We went to Impress and I was going to buy it, but they didn't have it! Isn't that always the way? I went to three places looking for something specific and ALL were OOS!! I was drawn in with the sentiments too, so unique and nothing like it that I have in my stash! I might just have to go directly to ME and buy it!! *wink
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful, but I think the 2nd one is my favorite. Very, very pretty!!!!
