I loved this simple layout and also the colors, and came up with this:
I was on Nana duty last week and didn't get a chance to play along with Melissa's Make It Monday challenge using a sentiment as your background, so first thing I did when I got back into my craft room was to try my hand at it! Have to admit keeping your sentiment straight on a diagonal is not as easy as it looks, but I still like the way this card came out!
My background sentiment is from the Think Big Favorites: #3 set and the sentiment on the banner is from the Keep It Simple: Praying For You set. I used the Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical die for my Harvest Gold card base, and then Gran's Garden (LOVE this set!!) for my flowers and leaves.
And what kind of Nana would I be if I didn't leave you with a couple pictures of the newest member of my family, born to our oldest daughter and son in law on Mother's Day (can you think of any better gift to receive on Mother's Day??!!).
Our granddaughter Addy is head over heels in love with her new brother as are all the rest of us! We were truly blessed this Mother's Day! :0)
There are still a few days to play along with this month's Create Along With Us challenge, and you can find the link and all the inspiration to play along right HERE.
Thanks so much for stopping by today...I love it when you do!
Love both of your cards! My jaw dropped when I first saw Dawn's purple Gran's Garden card! That set is coming to live with me soon! Congratulations on the new addition to your family! So precious!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Nana! Being a Mimi is one of the very best things in my life! A beautiful Family you have. Now the cards - well just a perfect couple of cards you have here. Lovely and I love that you used Dawns same color choices for the first one. It is a very striking combination.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are pretty and I like the colors (especially the purple!) you used on both ! I can't believe (well, I can) that Gran's Garden is sold out again! Keep seeing so many beautiful cards made with it!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new arrival!
HOW SWEET & NO, there is NOTHING BETTER than a NEW BABY!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! ;) Your cards look WONDERFUL!!! BOTH OF THEM! I know what you mean too about keeping that sentiment straight at an angle! LOL I saw a hint on another blog... they used the Misti & the Misti Corners to keep their sentiment straight! ;) I LOVE YOUR CARDS! BEAUTIFULLY DONE!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteIsn't Gran's Garden a great set?! Love both your cards. And congrats on your new grandson!! We have another one to arrive soon as well...a granddaughter. The score will be 3 granddaughters/1 grandson. Our oldest daughter has 3.
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards, Marcia and one beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteMarcia, how funny! I just made the same card and I had not even seen yours. I like how you added the splatters! Also like the yellow version with the background stamping. Both are beautiful! Congratulations on the new grandbaby! Blessings.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are beautiful! Your grandbabies are cute, too!
ReplyDeleteOh Marcia, so happy for you and the whole Hill clan! What a lovely Mother's Day Gift! Big sis looks so happy. And I know your joy overflows. I knew instantly what card you chose to case. You did a great job, and your card is beautiful using the same layout, yet striking with the splatters and added sequins. The second card brought a smile. Just because, though you missed the challenge, you played along anyway, and wow, did a fabulous bg! God bless you, Marcia and your beautiful family!!!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards Marcia! I so love that flower set and it's sold out. :0( I'm so, so happy for the arrival of your newest tiny family member. You are blessed beyond measure!

ReplyDeleteLOVE your cards and your awesome pictures of you growing family! What a wonderful Mother's Day to receive such a blessing! Oh yes, your cards are awesome as always! I love both of them, but I was very intrigued by the yellow with the big sympathy sentiment...awesome! I think I will give that a try...always looking for new ways to say I'm sorry! Have a wonderful weekend friend!
ReplyDeleteMarcia, congratulations on your new grandson! So very precious grandchildren. Dawn's card design and color combo was a fav of mine, too, and almost went with it. (Didn't because of my time crunch and thought it was a few more steps.) Both cards are just lovely!
