I used some of my new DOX inks (Broken China & Cracked Pistachio) along with the Meadow Greens stamp set to create my background. Laurie had mentioned in her video about using outlined stamps to create your background, and after using the ferns from the Meadow Greens set, I can see why that would work better than a more solid image like the ferns. However, this was one of those cards where I had the idea in my head, and it involved the ferns, and they were not outline images. Oh well...after adding the watercolor and some splattering, I still like the way this came out! I embossed the flower on vellum and fussy cut out to add another little bit of dimension to the card. Here's a closer up:
There's still time to enter this challenge, so check out Laurie's video and beautiful cards, and then play along right HERE.
Thanks so much for stopping by today...I love it when you do!
Lovely soft colors combined with Meadow Greens reminds me of lace. Well done
ReplyDeleteLovely, delicate images, Marcia. And the embossed ferns are perfect. Gorgeous vellum flower. How are you liking the new DOX inks? I think I've only scratched the surface on what they can do. Fun to play with!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, soft background Marcia. I thought of Meadow Greens too, but then decided against it. But yours turned out beautiful. Good idea to use the DOX's. I have yet to try them out.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Marcia! Love your soft colours of your watercoloured background pair with white. I think the fern looks awesome with this technique and will have to give that a try myself. xx
ReplyDeleteReally lovely card despite your problems (??)...your dandelion is just perfect for your softly watercolored background! ;)
ReplyDeleteSo retry Marci! Love the beautiful water colored background! The dandelion really pops and the bow adds a nice touch! Great take on the challenge!

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites, Marcia--beautiful colors & images & design! I love Meadow Greens & need to get it out! The look is different with solid images, but I like both. In fact, I'm almost done with a card using some solid flower stamps.
