How easy, right? And especially when you have a brand new die to use (thank you for the enabling Loll, Susan, & Bonnie!!)!
Let me just say this card turned out NOTHING like what I was envisioning in my head, but when you're using water color, Brusho's, and salt, why am I even surprised?! BUT, it all ended good and I'm happy with the end results! Take a look:
It was a good thought, but I think I'll save the salt technique for when I use my regular water colors! My pink that I had envisioned being in the middle of my background ended up at the top of the background because I liked the way the blue looked on the bottom of my panel more than I liked the top part of the panel. So this definitely did not turn out the way I first pictured it in my head, but oh well, I still am happy with the way it turned out! (sentiment is from PTI's Beautiful Berries: Winter)
There is still time to play along with this challenge (closes the 24th), so if you have all your Christmas stuff done, check out what Loll and the DT have for inspiration, and then play along right HERE.
Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!
This is beautiful Marcia! The background came out stunning! Makes me think of the Northern Lights in the sky. Just Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Birgit! Northern Lights! I certainly know what you mean about Brusho - it is fun, bold, and unpredictable - always! Beautiful card, Marcia!
ReplyDeleteYou won't regret buying that die, Marcia - I used it for lots of my Christmas cards, with all sorts of different background techniques. I love your brushos background - yes, it is hard to control the intensity but you made it work really well.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this card Marcia. The vibrant colours looks gorgeous with the white die. Love the deep blue with a touch of purple and then the hit of red. It's amazing!! I can see some crystals from the salt too. Great work Marcia. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour! xx
ReplyDeleteI love the vivid background, Marcia! Sometimes those happy accidents happen! Beautiful colors and I can see the crystals from the salt! So glad we could enable you! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!

ReplyDeleteJust so you know... Nothing I do ever comes out the way I envisaged it LOL! Especially when you are working with paints... That dssaid I love the result of your creation and you should too!
ReplyDeleteThe white Evergreen Window die-cut pops beautifully against the vibrant Brushos background, Marcia! The visual texture of Brushos is so interesting too! I bought a set of Brusho just recently. Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm sure it'll help me when I start using them. Hideko :-)
