I used Wet Paint and stamped in black first, and then die cut the word "happy" and blended over it with Tropical Teal, Bright Buttercup, Berry Sorbet, & New Leaf inks. I also did a little splattering with Tropical Teal and then covered the die cut with Glossy Accents. The Harvest Gold splatters are using a stamp from SU!'s Gorgeous Grunge. I thought about using the larger flower or a grouping of the smaller flower from Some Like It Hot, but decided to keep it just to the one small flower so I didn't take away from the Graffiti.
I finished by adding some black splatters, a few colored enamel dots, some bakers twine, and layered to a piece of Berry Sorbet cs and then mounted to a white card base.
Thank you Lexi for getting me out of my comfort zone and trying something different, and also bringing back some fun childhood memories...this really was a FUN challenge!! Still time to play along, so check out Lexi's video and card right HERE and then try your hand at it!! :0)

ReplyDeleteGood for you, Marcia! You tried something different even your fist instinct was not for it! I think this is a great graffiti card in YOUR style. Hideko xx
ReplyDeleteLOVELY JOB!!!! For pretty & graphic art, you melded the two BEAUTIFULLY!!!!!!!!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great choice for your graffiti, not only the word and the colors used, but for adding the hibiscus! When I think of graffiti, I always tend to think of ugly words and pictures. Your's is so pretty and happy looking!
ReplyDeletegreat take on the challenge!! i love the how you stamped the drop shadow and added the flower - great colors too! thanks for playing make it monday!! yay for stepping out of your comfort zone!
ReplyDeleteOh your graffiti art is fabulous, Marcia! I actually thought the very same thing, but just like you, jumped out of my comfort zone! Your birthday card is indeed HAPPY and will brighten the day of it's recipient.
ReplyDeleteMy sentiments exactly, Marcia, about not being my style with graffiti art, but tried it anyway. It’s actually kind of a fun technique with the right supplies. You nailed it with that hibiscus strategically placed, your twine bow, splatters and enamel dots. Love this one!
ReplyDeleteSo clever, Marcia! Your card turned out perfect for the challenge, and beautiful too! Shadowing the word was a great way to make it shine, and the flower gives it a touch of beauty. This was a rather hard one for me as well. Not really into graffiti! See way too much of it to appreciate it! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific card! So artsy and yet still CAS! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love this Marcia! I love the colorful tropical feel. Yes, very artsy!! Just beautiful my friend!
