Make It Monday #321 - Blending On Colored Cardstock

Hello friends.  Melissa Phillips is hosting this weeks Make It Monday challenge, and rather than blending on white cardstock, she would like us to blend our inks on colored cardstock.

I started by die cutting my cardstock (Tropical Teal, Bitty Big: Harvest Gold, & Aqua Mist) with the Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical dies.

I embossed with white on the Aqua Mist cardstock and vellum using Butterfly Blooms and A Bit More: Butterfly Blooms and then ink blended with Hawaiian Shores on the Aqua Mist layer and used Bright Buttercup to blend on the back of the vellum butterfly.

A sentiment strip, a few sequins, and a little yellow ribbon stapled onto the sentiment finished off this sweet little card I'm going to send to our oldest daughter for Mother's Day.  Last year on Mother's Day she gave birth to our 2nd grandchild and first boy in the family for quite a while...hard to believe he's almost a year old!!

And yes, if you look closely enough, he's been eating dirt...ALL BOY!!  :0)  Although his older sister ate dirt at that age too...must run in the family!!

Make sure you check out Melissa's BEAUTIFUL cards and video right HERE and then play along!

Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

  2. Friend, this is adorable! I still need to play along with this challenge. I kind of thought those butterflies looked like moths, so it was not very appealing to me, but both you and Sharyn above have made awesome cards with that stamp! Your little guy is too cute! What fun you will have with him!

  3. OMgood golly, he's so precious, I could kiss him! Beautiful card, of course, you only do beauties, and love the way you used some of 'our' favorite colors (aquas). Dirt eating is perfectly normal, no worries!!!! Bugs on the other hand freak me out! Hugs!

  20. What a great idea to sponge on coloured card stock. I don't think I've done that. Your card is so beautiful. Love the shading of the teals with the white embossing. What a pretty and special card to send to your daughter for Mother's day. Your little grandson is ADORABLE! He must have loved the taste of dirt, because he has a big smile on his face. :) xx
