It was suggested when I posted a picture of all my new goodies on IG that I start with the Macra-Made dies, so I did, and yes, I did let out a little squeal out when I ran the dies through my Big Shot! These remind me of my college days when several of my friends and I learned how to make macramé hangers for our plants...oh the simple things!! The flowers in my pots are from the Summer Sketches set.
I was trying to channel my inner Heather Nichols with this card and stamped the Eucalyptus branches on kraft cardstock and then stamped with white pigment ink and Moonlit Fog (Gina K) ink. And of course I had to add the Mason jar from the Just Mason Around set.
This card uses the Just Mason Around jar again and the Lemon Blossom set and will be going to my hubby as kind of a joke for his birthday. When he had a kidney stone a few months back, his boss told him that he used to get them (kidney stones) all the time until someone told him to drink lemonade, and since he's been drinking a quart of lemonade a week he hasn't had a kidney stone in 4 years. Truth or old wives tale?? I don't know, but I've been instructed to pick up lemonade every week at the grocery store since then! Anyway, FUN set to play with!!
A simple card using the Simple Things stamp set...who would ever have thought Eucalyptus branches could be soooo pretty all on their own??!!
And last but not least, a card inspired by Betsy's card using one of the stamps from Summer Sketches as a background stamp. And of course I had to use the Just Mason Around jar again because, well, you have to stamp them in every color combination to see what looks good (they ALL do!) and when they're all sitting there on your desk, well you use them!! Along with the purple flower from Fleur Impressions (Betsy's 1st release) and the flowers and leaves from Summer Sketches (yes, I stamped all kinds of color combo's with this stamp set too so I had lots to choose from!). A little bit of gingham (SU!) at the bottom of my card added to the country feel of this card.
Now you know what I've been doing for the past week...it was like Christmas around here!! I still have the bird stamp set and branch stamp set to play with yet, but I will definitely get to them! :0)
Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!
My, Marcia you HAVE been busy! A beautiful selection of cards and the Macra dies are fab!
ReplyDeleteYou have been enjoying your new goodies!! These are all pretty Marcia. I think the one with the lemons is my favorite...could be the addition of the embossed polka dots...hmmm!!! Happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteLove those macrame hangers! I well remember making those pot hangers. A fun grouping of cards, Marcia! Looks like lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE!! And I went crazy in the 70's making macrame hangers for all sorts of indoor and outdoor plants...oh the memories, everything comes around a second or third time, don't they? Those were the only two stamp sets I did NOT buy, now I am thinking I may need them! I spent an evening die cutting lots of dies too...now I need to get them all inky and put together! You have definitely inspired me, friend!! Happy 4th! Heart Hugs, Col
ReplyDeleteWow! I want every one of these products now!! The mason jar, eucalyptus and lemons are just amazing in your hands. My favorite is your pun card with the lemonade. Poor hubby. I've heard that kidney stones are hard to forget.
ReplyDeleteWhoopie Marcia, you're on a roll - wow what fabulous cards, all of them!!
ReplyDeleteWowzers, Marcia! What a fabulous array of cards! Before I read any of your post, I thought of macrame hangers too. I hate to admit it out loud, but I had a macrame hanging table in my living room back in the day, lol! Fabulous cards every one of them. I especially love the pink stripes, and the green gingham cards. Boy is my credit card in trouble now, lol!! And I've never heard of lemonade and kidney stones, but I'll keep it in mind in case I need it! Happy 4th! Bev

ReplyDeleteOoooh, these are all so lovely! I never did macrame but if I did, I'd like to think they'd look just like your beautiful card. I'm loving the sunshiny, warm colors of the lemonade jar. SWEET!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say that I hope the lemonade works for your hubby. What a hoot the sentiment is for such a time!!
DeleteEvery single card is wonderful, Marcia! I know I've said it before, but you and The Greetery are a perfect match! Great intricate macrame and those sweet pots of plants and flowers. I love your lemon card and your funny story to go with it. At least someone didn't suggest vodka to keep those stones at bay!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, what a treat, Marcia, so many fabulous cards ... and such splendid inspiration! Each one is gorgeous ... they showcase so beautifully The Greetery's latest release! I'm just waiting for new stocks to arrive ... I certainly won't be short of ideas for using them after seeing all these lovelies! Hugs, Anita :)
