Why these colors?? Think warm breezes, sunshine, the tropics...that's what I'm thinking this time of year when Winter is still hanging on here in Michigan! Seriously though, go wherever the colors take you, and we'll be thrilled to see you in the gallery! Here's what the colors led me to...
That little crab is me in my pale white skin, but he's hoping a few days poolside will fix that! I started by stenciling my background using PTI's POOL WATER stencils and Blue Raspberry and Turquoise Sea inks from Gina K. I stamped my umbrella on white card and then again on Turquoise Sea and Pacific Point cardstocks (Gina K & SU!), and then fussy cut and paper pieced to the white stamped umbrella. The umbrella and the crab are both from MFT's Just Beclaws stamp and die set.
The Adirondack chair (Gina Marie Designs) was also die cut from Turquoise Sea card and then attached to my Crimped Circle die cut (The Greetery) along with the pasty white crab, the umbrella, and my sentiment that I think is just perfect for this card! (Catherine Pooler - Vitamin Sea Stamps) I finished with a few matching enamel dots and google eyes that have blue centers (leftover from a Paper Pumpkin (SU!) kit).
We can't wait to see YOU in the gallery using these two colors!! Make sure you check out all the FABULOUS inspiration from the rest of our DT...you can check it all out right HERE. This challenge is open till the 28th @ 9:00AM.
Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!
Very cool colors, and a darling poolside card, Marcia! That little googly-eyed critter is ME - crabby because our weather hasn't straightened out YET!

I love this color combination, Marcia! And your summer themed card is so cute with that googly-eyed crab! I'm enjoying Florida sunshine right now, but it won't be long before I'm back in the cold northeast, waiting for summer to come! This little guy will be great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Marcia. I chuckled about that crab being you! These are awesome colors and I hope I can play along, still wearing the sling for another week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to use those colors, Marcia. The pool looks fabulous and that googlie eyed crab is perfect.
ReplyDeleteYour pasty blue-eyed crab is so funny and cute, Marcia! He looks very happy to be getting some of that vitamin sea. I love every minute of this card from the stenciled background to the little scene you created on the circle. I had as much fun reading your post as looking at your darling card!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I love these colors, Marcia, great pick! Your card is so cute and colorful and fun! The pasty crab comments made me chuckle. It's always a delight to visit your blog!
ReplyDeleteLove how you've created the water with the stencils Marcia, the overlapping colours make the water appear to shimmer! :)
ReplyDeleteHis googly eyes make me smile, he's so cute! Love every perfect detail you added, Marcia. The water is fantastic! Cute card, my friend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colour combo and fabulous card!
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud when you said the crab was you! I used to go to the beach all the time and sunbathe and now that my skin looks like it does, I have wised up...a little too late. Darling card and the gallery will be full, I just know it!
ReplyDeleteThe stencil is amazing! I can almost see the water moving! And that crab with his big eyes makes me smile! I'm pasty white too. I think we need a trip to a warm beach, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI tell you what, I'd be the other white crab at poolside lol! This is such a cute card but the googlie eyes make it over-the-top on the cuteness scale! Thanks for the great color combo!
ReplyDeleteGreat inspirational card !
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me !

This is adorable, Marcia. I'm probably as pasty as that crab too so I'd love to be sitting in that chair beside a pool.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute Marcia, and I love the color combination! I could use a good dose of vitamin sea too! What a cute, cute combination of products you used here. Just perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou chose such a fun mix of elements! Loving that pasty white crab and fabulous background. Come down to FL and we'll sunburn his little claws right up.
ReplyDeleteA+++ in capturing the tropics vibe with your card, Marcia. Your stenciling is awesome and how cute is the little sunbathing crab (I'm winter white, too). Sensational inspiration for this challenge.
