After pressing the flower and sentiment in black ink, I proceeded to color in the flower with R24, R29, & R89 Copics and the leaves with G40 & G24 Copics. I also snuck some Y17 in the flower center...shhhhhh, don't tell!! It still needed something, so I used Altenew's Organic Linen 3D embossing folder on my panel. I love the way it looked, but noticed that I completely took away the letter press look by embossing over it...grrrrrr!! Not one of my best moves, but I still think it looks pretty!
I finished by adding a Real Red (SU!) panel and then attached to a white top folding card base. A few Disco Ball sequins (Gina K) were added for a touch of sparkle & shine.

Beautiful card with red & green. Your coloring looks perfect and I love the texture of the embossing.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely lovely card Marcia! The flower iamge and sentiment pressed into the embossed background is just wonderful. It hard sometimes to make Christmas cards in July, but this flower is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI like your pretty floral card in this color combo! Great texture too!
ReplyDeleteLove the technique you've used to get some texture into your design, works so well. I don't think it matters that you can't see the Better press effect. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a brilliant idea, Marcia. I love that the gorgeous floral image has texture. Really, really pretty card and it will definitely inspire others.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers, Friend! Love your coloring, and your conundrum of embossing over the betterpress sounds like something I'd do! It is pretty amazing regardless
ReplyDeleteWhat a great use of these colors! So much nicer than Christmas in July. What a pretty flower and I like the embossed background. It adds a nice bit of texture.
ReplyDeleteYour coloring is amazing, Marcia. Even if the betterpress doesn't show, you now have another way to use the stamp. I love it with the embossing.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the extra embossing takes away from that gorgeous flower, Marcia! It's a beauty! It was so nice visiting with you this morning and thank you for the pretty birthday card!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous, Marcia. I love that you went a floral route with red and green. The image is gorgeous, and the texture is so wonderful. Wonderful card, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous flower, Marcia, and with the right sentiment, I think it could fit in perfectly as a Christmas card! I never think to emboss a panel after coloring it, but it certainly packs a punch here.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card with that amazing bloom done in red and green, Marcia. The embossing adds something special, and it was a great idea. xx
ReplyDeleteMarcia, that's such a pretty press plate, I don't blame you for not going with Christmas! The embossing was a brilliant choice, I love the allover texture! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteTHe embossing adds such lovely texture. Great use of the colors.
ReplyDeleteI love the extra texture from the folder!! Sometimes I don't really care about the letterpress look as much as I do the crisp lines the plates give to stamping. This is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI can still feel the Christmas vibes from your gorgeous bloom--probably because of the colors. And I love the embossing that didn't affect your letter pressing at all!
ReplyDeleteMarcia, adding the embossing was a wonderful idea; it adds to the impact of your absolutely beautiful bloom. A lovely card in every way!
