CAS and easy to follow, right?! My card isn't exactly CAS, but I don't think Michele will mind as it really does follow the sketch. Well kinda. Take a look and see what you think...
I made this card quite a while ago but never had a chance to post it. When I saw Michele's sketch, and Donna's card, I knew this cutie patootie Rooster from PTI would be a perfect fit!! The background is stenciled using an older set of stencils from The Greetery called Stencil Scapes: Autumn. I used brighter colors to make the background more Summery than Autumn like, and decided it was a bit too bright and busy looking to add the rooster to, so I added a piece of vellum over the background to mute it a bit before adding my rooster.
Check out the marvelous cards from Michele and the rest of the DT right HERE and then play along! This challenge is open till Monday, June 15th @ 3:00PM.
Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

What a beautiful way to start my day, my friend! I love that cock-a-doodling-dude strutting his fine feathers - he looks right at home in your gorgeous, stenciled scene! What a gorgeous take on my sketch! Thanks so much for sharing some of your hard-earned spare time with us at FMS! [totally makes me smile, btw!]

The stenciled farm scene is the perfect place to show off that fancy rooster, Marcia. It is such a fun card.
ReplyDeleteYour fancy rooster is oodles of fun! Love the scene you've created for him too. Another terrific card, Marcia!
ReplyDeleteStray or not this is FANTASTIC, my friend! This is a difficult sketch but that fabulous rooster steals the show! Love this, Marcia!
ReplyDeleteI've fallen totally in love with this rooster! They should all be so beautiful! I would never for a minute believe the background was stenciled if you hadn't said. Wow! How perfect! The vellum was a brilliant idea for softening the background. What a fabulous card, Marcia!
ReplyDeleteI love vellum for softening...especially after spending time building up a background. Fab rooster, too.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you joined us at FMS with that gorgeous (handsome?) rooster and your stenciled background is just jaw dropping, Marcia! I love the vellum overlay that tones down the colors and makes your rooster pop! Thanks again for linking up to the challenge--we love it when you do!
ReplyDeleteYour fancy rooster looks right at home on your stenciled background, which I thought was pattern paper. You did a great job stenciling it and softening it with the vellum overlay. Great card Marcia.
ReplyDeleteWow! Mr Rooster is proud as a peacock to showoff his field if dreams and coat of stunning color! Your card is gorgeous and definitely not CAS

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your rooster card! It truly brought a smile to my face when I saw it! I also really liked several of your other cards that I have seen. You have such a talent!
ReplyDeleteI just found you while scrolling through my phone at 1:30 am. I was looking for directions to make a specific card my mom (86) wants to make. It was from a short I saw and sent to her.
