I started with a piece of TH watercolor paper and quite liberally wet the cardstock before swiping Fired Brick, Mustard Seed & Wilted Violet Distress Inks across it. Because of all the water, the colors are quite muted, but I love the soft look.
I used a large Gina K stamp (Just A Little) and stamped with black ink over my water coloring, and then used a stitched rectangle die (also Gina K - Master Layouts 2) to die cut just a portion of my image. I layered it with a black mat and then popped it up with foam tape before adhering it to a white card base. I also added a leaf die cut from PTI (Songbird) in white to my white card base to give a bit of design to all the white surrounding the water-colored image, and the sentiment is from the Just A Little stamp set. As I mentioned before, it's a very simple card, but it almost reminds me of stained glass and I'm really happy with the way this card came out!
I've been beating myself up this month for my lack of mojo, but after finishing this card, I realized I don't have a lack of mojo at all...it's a lack of energy! I'd rather just sit and read or knit! It is Winter though, and I've got the hibernating act down to a t! Facebook told me yesterday that it's only 60 more days till Spring though, so there's light at the end of the tunnel and I'm ready!! If you're in the same place I am, hang in there...we'll get through this!! :0)
Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

The soft loose water colouring looks so pretty and I like the bold black against it Marcia x. I love how you die cut a portion of the stamping and then matted it with the black.....Thank you for the inspiration x. Sending hugs and yes I am with you about the lack of energy. Dark mornings and early sunsets sure do shorten the day! x.
Sitting to read or knit sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day, Marcia! Sometimes we need a break from doing all those other things and need to escape and refresh. And your mojo hasn't gone anywhere and seems to be at the ready whenever you're ready to draw on it! This is a fantastic example of your creative mojo coming out beautifully! Love the colors and that fantastic design in black! WOW!
Nope, no lack of mojo here this is lovely! Your water-colored panel really pops on the white background. I'm with you on the hibernation. We had almost 2' of snow dumped on us last week, followed by another 5" yesterday and 4" more today. It should be against the law to snow this much!
I hear you with hibernating in winter... I can't wait for warmer weather. Super watercolour card and so pretty Marcia
I'm in hibernation mode right along with you, my friend! The days are getting longer, and the sun has been shining here on the east coast. Except last night we got a few more inches of fresh snow. Anyway, your card is sweet Marcia! I like the soft, loose watercolors and the bold flower image in black. The leaf sprig under the focal panel adds a nice touch too. Beautifully done! Stay warm!
So pretty, Marcia! Yes, a very quick and beautiful way to get a loose water colored look!
You know I'm in the same mode - if I were in the same place we'd be enjoying staying in much more! Hang in there, my friend!

Very pretty Marcia. Love the way you did the lovely background.
Stay safe and warm.
This is so pretty Marcia, I love the soft watercolouring in the background, the black stamping on top really pops xx
Beautiful image, lovely colours, perfect with the black matting and the leaf die cut behind it! I know what you mean about hibernating - I really have to make myself go up to the craft room when it feels so much easier and cosier to be in an armchair with tea and a book or my knitting!
Wonderful shades you chose. Love the soft wash.
I don't know if it's mojo, energy or lack of all my supplies but I haven't been creating much either, Marcia. Except a quilt I'm working on but that a whole other craft. Your loose watercolor with that heavier lined image really does give a stained glass effect and it's beautiful.
Yup, Marcia, hanging in there is what a lot of folks are doing, even before winter, but cold gray days do zap the engerny. It might be my hopeful imagination, but it does seem like I'm seeing a little more posts popping up in my various readers. I got depressed and bored from being depressed and boring, haha, so I'm determined to push through the cobwebs.🤞 Seeing the last few beautiful cards that I've missed on your blog has done a lot to inspire me, cuz you certainly haven't lost any of your creativity or talent! Mwah! Hugs, Darnell
Wow, this is fantastic! I love the soft colors with the bold black lines and solid areas -- perfect fit. So pretty, Marcia
