What a pretty color pairing for the start of Summer, right?!! With all the flowers in bloom in my neck of the woods, I just had to make another flower card, and here's what I came up with using the challenge colors...
Now I realize there's no such thing as blue leaves in real life, but I think they look pretty cool with the yellow roses from PFS's Garden Roses stamp, stencil & die set.
My background on the bottom was hot foiled in Cobalt Blue foil using a new (to me) hot foil plate from Spellbinders called Plaid Tidings Background that I scooped up in their big warehouse sale for $5! The top half of the background is from SSS's Blossom Field embossing folder.
On this close up you can see the shine from the foil a bit better. The "Just a Note" sentiment was hot foiled also in the Cobalt Blue foil using Memory Box's Posh Just A Note foil plate and die. I finished with a few PFS yellow gems, and am pretty tickled with the way this whimsical floral card turned out!
And now we want to see what YOU can create with these two colors! You can find lots of beautiful inspiration from the rest of the DT and our Special GD right HERE. This challenge is open till Friday, June 14th @ 9:00AM.
Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

Beautiful, Marcia! I'd take those yellow and blue roses EVERY day. Your combination of the pretty roses, embossed top 2/3s and foiled bottom 1/3 is brilliant too -- well done, Friend!
Just love the blue leaves with the yellow blossoms, Marcia! So pretty with the diagonal plaid at the bottom!!
Your yellow and blue flowers with leaves are gorgoeus. They look so wonderful over the foiled blue plaid. Fabulous card Marcia!! xx
I just love the way you've combined an embossing folder, hot foiling, and those beautiful roses to create a truly gorgeous card! The combination is a winner!
The flowers in blue and yellow are so pretty! What a lovely color combination!! I'm so glad that we live in a place where there can be blue leaves. In the paper crafting world, anything is possible!
Those flowers are lovely in yellow and blue leaves look wonderful with them. I love how you added the foiled plaid on the bottom. Beautiful card, my friend.
Gorgeous!!! I think your blue leaves look perfect with the pretty yellow roses. Love the shiny blue plaid at the bottom also.
Blue leaves for the win! Gorgeous card, Marcia! Love that the sentiment is foiled in blue as well!
That foiled plaid is AWESOME, Marcia! Love the yellow roses and they pair beautifully with the blue leaves!
Wowie, those blue leaves look good to me especially with the yellow roses! The plaid foil is striking with them. What a perfect color match! All over this is simply gorgeous, Marcia!
I like the artistic liberties you took with the blue leaves, Marcia, they look great! That little bit of plaid foiling does too. This is a lovely card!
Well, we certainly did have similar ideas lol! Those roses are so sweet and why not blue leaves! Love that plaid at the bottom - that plate was used for a number of my Christmas cards last Christmas; it's definitely a great add to one's foiling selection. Such a gorgeous and delightful card, Marcia!
Loving the blue foiled elements, it really throws the pretty blooms front and center. Those blue leaves remind me of some fabric cushions I used to have, who says leaves need to be green! :)
Oooooh, WHeeeee, I love what I see! This card is STUNNING, Marcia! How I love that plaid cobalt foiling, its so beautiful! The roses - yellow are my FAVORITES - have exquisite details and the blue leaves are perfect. This is too pretty to use for just a note, it deserves to be framed!
Marcia this is absolutely stunning! So many details as always. I really like like the embossing, the plaid and the blue foiling on the sentiment. What a lovely card my friend!
The flower as absolutely gorgeous in the color combo! Love the touch of blue foiling at the bottom. Thanks so much for the lovely comment on my card and for having me as a guest designer.
Blue leaves? Yes, please, especially when they're paired with your yellow roses! Talk about a gorgeous card; love it!
