I have a bit of thanking to do with a fellow DT member who kindly let me cut a basket using a die from HB (Rattan Basket) that she brought this past Summer when we had a play date and also enabled me to buy another HB set called Lovely Layers: Autumn Bouquet. Thanks Bobby!! Here's what I came up with using the basket and flower dies...
Now some people might call these weeds, but I think they're beautiful, so they're definitely FLOWERS in my book! I had die cut the basket in kraft and then inked around the edges to give a bit of definition. I used sandable cardstock to die cut my flowers and leaves and then arranged them in the basket.
I attached the basket of flowers to a background that I embossed using SSS's Fall Foliage 3D embossing folder. I also ink blended on the edges of the embossed background to differentiate it from the card base (PTI's Rustic Cream cs). I finished with a Tiny Tag (PTI) for my sentiment and used twine to attach it to the handle of the basket. A pretty simple card really, but I love the way it turned out!
The DT has some beautiful examples of floral thank you cards that you can find right HERE, so check them out and play along with us! Remember that Christmas is coming and we all could use a few extra thank you cards for gifts we receive. This challenge is open till Tuesday, Nov. 25th @ 5:00PM.

Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

Marcia, that basket is just divine, what a perfect base for your lovely floral arrangement!, I love the embossed background too!!
Flowers or weeds, it doesn't matter because they fill that basket beautifully! Like Tracey, I love the embossed background too. This is marvelous, Marcia!
Not one thing 'weedy' about those wonderful wildflowers in my book, Marcia! SO beautiful!

Lovely card, Mar ia! The basket was definitely a blessing, but your flowers are the star. Great card, Friend!
Absoluty gorgeous card, congrats ππ happy weekend
You have lots of fun play dates! Lucky you. Personally I’m liking the “weeds” π

They're flowers in my book! I've often thought it would be the most fun to have a garden made up completely of native wildflowers and shrubs. If I had it to do over... I just love that basket, too. Gosh, it looks so real. Cute little tag and lovely embossed background. I just love it all!
Stamping friends are the best! I LOVE this basket and the sweet wildflowers that fill it! And they are definitely flowers! I'm loving that sweet little tag too! A beautiful way to say thank you, my friend!
I once heard that weeds are only flowers growing where you don't want them. I think they make a beautiful bouquet either way and I sure love yours peeking from that wonderful rattan basket, Marcia. I'm glad I could enable you to get that set. It's a favorite of mine. I'll cut you more baskets if you need them.
Ohhh, I am loving that basket. Nice that you got to make a cut. Its a beautiful card and perfectly says thank you.
Sharing with a crafty friend is the best is you're able. I love the basket full of cheerful wildflowers, including the Queen Anne's lace. It grows prolifically in the Pacific Northwest, and I always loved seeing it when out hiking. Love the embossed background too. Your design came together so beautifully, Marcia!
