Make it Monday #205 - Confetti Cluster Stamping

Hello friends.  Playing along with this weeks Make it Monday challenge, where Lizzie Jones shows us how to take basic shapes and fill them with many small and different stamps to look like confetti.  Really cool technique if you do it right!  Some of the prettiest cards I've seen used just a basic shape, like Lizzie showed in her video.  Wellllllllllll, I did not use just a basic shape, and I'm not totally thrilled with my card.  I guess it pays to listen to directions!  Anyways, I finished it into a card and it is what it is...take a look:

Because I don't have the dies for Rosie Posie, I stamped the leaves and flower off a couple times before actually stamping on my cardstock, so that I made just a very light image in which to follow with all my smaller "confetti" stamps.  I used small stamps from the following sets:  Big Hugs, Shakers & Sprinkles, Polka Dot Parade #6, Sparkle & Shine: Holiday Additions, and Bitty Bouquets.  It's bright, it's colorful, and I'm sure someone will like it, but I think I will try this technique again and actually follow the directions this time! :0)

If you like to follow directions, you can find Lizzie's video how to right here.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...I love it when you do! :0)

Look at you! Oh my gosh you are so creative to make the shape out of this flower , I love the way you did this Marcia! Always fun to stop by and see what you come up with. Love this!

Marcia, Rosie Posie is the PERFECT image to confetti-up, and your sweet flowers around the edge with sequins are the perfect definition for the bloom. Love that stem and leaves too!

I haven't watched the video yet, but what you did looks awesome. I can't quite figure out what you don't like about it. Is it the leaves? I like how you stamped it off a few times and then filled it in with the small stamps. I can't see how you stamped the flower off though, it must be really light. It really does look cool. I do really like it! Don't be so hard on yourself :) I can say that because you know I would say the same thing if I made the card...hahaha!

It doesn't matter a bit that you lightly stamped your "container" for your clustered stamps - this is adorable!! What fun it is looking at all the variety of cards on the blog.

I love that you made that flower as your shape! You know, that's what I like about learning these new techniques, they get us to then think, "Okay, now what if I take it a step in this direction?" That's creativity, and you've got it!

I really like how this one came out. My favorite part is how you did the stem and the leaves. Forget the directions--you are an artist!
