Hugs

Hello friends.  I have had a set of 24 Zig Clean Color Brushes for quite awhile now, and everyone raves about how much they LOVE them...except for me.  I have really struggled with these markers and just can't seem to make them work...I always end up throwing away whatever I've started!  But I decided to persevere, and FINALLY came up with a card I actually like with them!  Take a look:

I started with a piece of water color cardstock and cut out a scalloped circle (Gina Marie Designs), and then embossed with black a few of the flowers and leaves from MFT Buildable Bouquet. I wet the flowers and leaves a little bit with my Aqua Painter first, and then added the color with the Zig markers, and that helped me to blend them a little better, rather than adding water AFTER putting the color down.  By no means perfect, but definitely a step in the right direction!  The very center of the circle I water colored with Sky Blue Peerless Watercolors.  My die cut and sentiment are from PTI's Big Hugs set.  I attached to an Orange Zest card base and also added a strip of silver POW  Glitter paper.  Here's a closer up view of my coloring:

I'm entering this card into the Word Art Wednesday challenge, where anything goes as long as it is encouraging or uplifting in nature.  One of my good friends from my bible study group has been suffering with ALS this past year, so I have been sending bright and cheery encouraging cards every week to her, and this will be this weeks card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...I love it when you do!  :0)

Marcia, I know exactly what you are saying...I used the Zigs on the last MIM that Dawn showed and I struggled with blending too...it left all the streaks I used to brush it on...however your flowers are wonderful, so glad you persevered and kept practicing ...I love your inside circle and all the pretties around it!!

Marcia, I have the same problem with the Zigs. Just struggle blending and all the Designers seems to make it look so easy. Your card is so pretty. Great job my friend.

This came out great, Marcia! I think a lot of people struggle with blending the zigs. I think it's the right blend of water color paper, color and water and I haven't figured it out yet either. Hooray for you for sticking through! Your card is so sweet and will definitely cheer up your friend. I am still praying as well...

This is so lovely! I, too, have struggled with the Zig watercolor markers. I need to take a moment and watch some videos, I guess. I feel like I am not using the right technique. I do love the saturation they give. Beautiful work.

The card is beautiful. I hope to start playing with my zigs very soon, now that I broke down and bought them
