Double D Challenge - Books/Bookmark & Postal/Postage

Hello friends. When I saw the new DD Challenge, I knew I had to play!  If you've followed me for any length of time, you know I LOVE postal themed stamps, dies & stencils!  The only real challenge was what one to use...I do have a few!  Haha!

Obviously the bottom two photos inspired me with all the floral postage stamps pictured, and so I went with a stencil set from The Ton called Wildflowers. Here's what I came up with...

The directions on the packaging suggest using 3 shades of pink for ALL the flowers, but I am so hungry for Spring that I used multiple colors...did a bit of easy masking so I could use multiple colors, and it turned out beautifully IMHO.

I added the postage amounts using WF's Postage Collage mini stamp set and then attached the panel to a Highland Heather (SU!) panel and a white card base.  I finished with a die cut sentiment from MB Just A Note Posh Script in black and then finished with a few Disco Ball Sequins from Gina K.

I have a twofer for you today as I actually didn't line my first stencils up too well and only half of the stamps looked good to me.  I cut them apart and used 3 that still looked good and made this card...

I used SSS's Floral Butterfly Bouquets ef for my background and then added the stamps, a vellum butterfly (Poppystamps) and 2 little gold butterflies from SU!. The sentiment is the same as on the first card. Two Spring cards that are totally making me happy!!  Now if only the weather would actually cooperate!  (Although I do have Snowdrops blooming and my Daffodil's are just starting to poke up through the ground!!)

The DT as usual have FABULOUS inspiration for you, so check it all out right HERE and then play along.  This challenge is open till Sunday, March 15th @ 8:00PM.

Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

So beautiful and so full of Springtime goodness, it's been 70 in my part of MI but back to the cold and snowy days and my Crocus are all blooming, lilacs are budded, I hate the false Springs in Mich just because of that, sigh!! Anyhow a gorgeous stenciled card, I also have The Ton postage stencils all in their own notebook, I had to look and see if I had this one, I sure do, I need to take a day and just use them all!!

Marcia, what a gorgeous stencil that is! I love the variety of inks and flowers - JUST a note? I don't think so - it's gorgeous! and so is the one you 'saved.'
Hope you're safe and sound - it rained so hard at times last night that I thought the windows were going to break!

Sigh, why can't the USPS come up with pretty stamps like these? You did an awesome job of masking those tiny flowers and I love how you rescued some from the bin! What a sweet way to use the saved ones! Even that sweet butterfly loves them!

I love the multiple colors of ink and varying flowers! Your need for Spring is pretty universal for us here in the U.S. I believe, and these cards warm our hearts. Both cards are fantastic, and what a way to overcome the misalignment, not that the rest of us hasn't had that problem -- haha! Love them, Marcia

Marcia, you made the most beautiful choice for your postage panel and I'm delighted you didn't go with the suggestion of all pinks 'cause these colors look so happy together! They compliment each other well and the Highland Heather base sets them off and brings them together at the same time. You even have a bonus card with the pretty embossing to which I'm so addicted. I love the cut apart panels as much as the full sheet. Simply brilliant! Thank you so much for playing along with us at Double D!

LOVE your spring flower-filled postage card, Marcia. It's beautiful with all the different colours of spring. Great save to create a second card with those beautiful images. :) xx

These are both so beautiful and scream SPRING--can't get here fast enough! I'm glad you used different colors to make your beautiful garden--that coneflower section, wow! May have to look into this stencil! I also adore all things Postage Collage--WF has soooo many options! Again, these are so delightful!
