I started with Honey Bee's Fluttering Hearts Pierced Cover Plate on a piece of Real Red cs (SU!!) and attached to a kraft card base. I also added a rectangle of kraft cs and a piece of PTI's Bitty Big DSP to the center of my card so I had a place for my sweet bear! I die cut the bear from kraft cs also and then ink blended around his edges with Walnut Stain DI. For the hearts he's holding, I used a trick the creative Leslie Miller mentioned in a couple of her posts where you used a piece of packing tape (clear) over your cs before die cutting, and then voila!!...you have shiny hearts! Did the same for his nose and eyes too.
I finished with a "LOVE YOU" sentiment (MFT) and a piece of red & white baker's twine. Thought about adding some bling, but it is for a young boy (well I actually made 2 exactly the same for my 2 grandsons), and I figured the one glittery heart was all it really needed!
This challenge closes later tonight, so not much time if you do want to play along, but the DT has some really great cards to CASE if you do find time today to create! You can find all the info needed right HERE.

Your huggable bear is so very cute! I love how you've framed him with pattern and texture. The bundle of hearts is adorable! I especially love how you added the shine using packing tape. Leslie is a genius and so are you, my friend. Your grandson's will adore their cards.
Oh. My. Gracious! Every layer gets cuter and cuter, Marcia! I think Leslie's packing tape technique needs to take a spin in MY studio, too!
The boys are going to love their Valentines - and Bobby will be pleased as punch!

Your card is darling, Marcia, and now I may have to CASE yours, giving Mr. Bear a bunch of hearts and using that heart coverplate. What a great idea that Leslie had. That's one I'll try to remember. Much easier than clear heat embossing. I do have some black foil that I cut the eyes and noses from. Thanks so much for CASEing my card and sharing it with us at Just Us Girls.
Adorable cads for your grandsons, Marcia. That bear is so fun and I love it paired with the patterned red paper background. That glittery and glossy hearts are adorable. They will love this! xx
Well, this is just too adorable! You know how I love this stuff. I love that the bear is clutching the trio of pretty hearts. Every detail is precious! I'm glad you tried the packing tape trick. It's easy to get hooked on it. I learned it from Natalie Bowers of NB Cards on YouTube. She's got lots of great ideas!
