Color Hues #104 - Coral & Yellow

Hello friends.  Time for a new challenge here at Color Hues, and our sweet hostess Bonnie has chosen the colors CORAL & YELLOW to work with.

I have to admit I was a little uncertain about this color combo at first, but I ended up loving it!!  I ended up using PFS's Garden Florals stencils and came up with this...

I ended up using a lighter hand with my stenciling, so I have more of a pastel look rather than the bold, bright colors, but I thought it looked great with the neutral gray for the leaves and also for a sympathy card (of which I never have any when I need them, so hence the sympathy card today.).  After stenciling, I cut down my panel and attach it to a Smokey Slate panel that I used The Greetery's Crimped Rectangle Dies on and then attached both to a top folding white card base.

My sentiment is from a Gina K set and I die cut that using The Greetery's Crimped Circle Dies and Smokey Slate cs.  Before adding the circle I added some white bakers twine and then added my sentiment with some foam tape behind it.  I finished the card off with a few silver pearls from PFS.  A pretty simple card but I'm very happy with the way it turned out!

The DT has some fabulous inspiration using these two colors for you and our special GD Teresa has a FABULOUS card to share with you, so make sure you check them all out right HERE and then play along with us.  We'd love to see YOU in our gallery!  This challenge is open till Friday, Feb. 28th @ 9:00AM.

Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

What a lovely use of these colors. The colors in the challenge tile are very striking together. I like them in softer tones as well, as you've used them. That's a great idea to make these kinds of cards ahead of time.

The challenge colors are wonderful, and you certainly kicked that combo up a notch by adding that lovely gray. Sympathy cards are tricky, but you have done amazing job making this one feel so comforting with its's softness and beauty. I really love this.

The pastel shades of these colors remind me of the card that inspired this color combination, Marcia! What a beautiful garden and I love how it pairs with the gray!

It's amazing how the gray changes everything with these lovely colors and stencil. It has all the grace, dignity, and beauty one might hope for in a sympathy card. Inspiring, Marcia!

Taking these colors and adding grey was such a great idea. Such a pretty card, Marcia. I love the way you did the sentiment too. Have a great week!

Marcia I hope that you had a lovely birthday yesterday! This card is divine, I have not seen this Pink Fresh flower before and the sentiment is absolutely perfect! Then to top it off with the Crimed Rectangles! xo

An absolutely lovely card! Your soft colors are gorgeous, and the gray adds a touch of elegance--perfect for a sympathy card. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who struggled with coral at first.

This is a beautiful way to send your sympathies! Wonderful card, Marcia!

Your soft hues look fab especially with your choice of grey accents, a total contrast to the rest of the DT but that's what hues mean! A perfect sympathy card. :)

It's not being able to use green for leaves that usually keeps me from making a floral card but yours looks fantastic with the gray, Marcia. Matching the crimped frame and sentiment circle pulls it all together in such a beautiful way.
