I die cut the 2 hearts from The Greetery's Nordic Hearts dies and added the scalloped layer behind them using gold matte cs. My background was embossed using SSS's Layered Vine ef and matted with more of the matte gold cs, and then both layers added to a white top folding base.
Hopefully in this really close up you can see the details impressed into the velvet paper hearts...IRL it's so much more noticeable! I finished with a sentiment strip using SSS's Tiny Words sentiment stamp set and a few gold metallic pearls from PFS. Pretty CAS and I'm happy with the way it turned out!
There's lots more inspiration using the sketch from the DT and you can find it all right HERE. This challenge is open till Monday, Jan. 26th @ 3:00PM.

This is so elegant, Marcia! Now I've got to get some of that paper! The red velvet and gold play so well together and I may need to get the dies too. I'm trying to talk myself out of them, but who knows how long that will last! Thanks for enabling me. Again. And for the inspiration!
Marcia, those little red velvet hearts are just incredibly beautiful - and the gold scalloped edge just adds to the elegance! I couldn't love it [or the embossing] more!
Thanks so much for playing cards with us this week at FMS!

Wowee are those red velvet hearts ever fabulous! Love the close up showing the pretty embossed details. Beautifully done, Marcia!
Red and gold to the win! This is really elegant and sweet, let those hearts say it all. Very special card, Marcia!
So, so elegant!
Lovely with the rich red velvet paper.
Velvet anything adds elegance and your hearts certainly elevated your card, big time! Thanks for joining us at FMS this week!
Wow, gorgeous card Marcia. Love your red velvet hearts with the embossing and gold borders. That lovely embossed background is perfect for them. Have a safe and warm week my friend.
Gorgeous card Marcia! Love the red velvet paper and can see the embossing. Such beautiful hearts with the gold scalloped edges. Love the design and texture from your embossing folder background. I'm loving the vintage valentine's this year! :) xx
This is such an elegant card, Marcia! That velvet paper looks gorgeous so I can only imagine what it is like in real life. Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
Red velvet paper?? How fabulous is that! I love the details on this and the gold really makes it that much more special. So glad to see you this week at FMS!
The gold frame and simple embossing show off those gorgeous hearts beautifully, Marcia. I love the idea of red velvet paper for hearts.
Elegant and so beautiful from the hearts to the embossed background! The velvet paper is so cool! Everyone will want it now, including me. Amazon better stock up! I have some velveteen or suede-ish paper from eons ago and it embosses beautifully. Apparently I'm hoarding it along with some of my flocked and otherwise textured papers, sheesh. You are an inspiration, Marcia!
Oh, how pretty! I love all the embossing and seeing more of that velvet paper in action. I may have to hop over and see if I can find some before they sell out.
This is so simple and so gorgeous. I am deep into making Valentines. Gotta make a version of this beauty!
