Color Hues #130 - FUCHSIA & NAVY

Hello friends.  Welcome to a new challenge here at Color Hues where our sweet leader Nancy is also our hostess for the next two weeks.  Nancy has chosen the color pairing of FUCHSIA & NAVY.

I love this color combination and had so much fun with an older PFS press plate that I foiled with Speckled Aura and then stenciled with the coordinating stencils (Splendid Florals). Take a look...

It's hard to see from this photo, but the sparkle & shine of this Speckled Aura foil (like gold sparkles) really does SHINE on this card!! After foiling, I used the stencils with Starry Sky and Night of Navy for the leaves and Magenta Madness for the flowers (inks are SU!).

I hope you can see the shine a bit better in this close-up?  There is also a coordinating die that cuts out the center piece which I added with foam tape to a Night of Navy card base.  I die cut the center piece again with a scrap of Night of Navy cs and hot foiled the birthday sentiment before in-laying it into the center of the card.

So what will YOU do with this color pairing...we can't wait to see!  If you need inspiration to get started, definitely check out what our talented DT did with these colors...I think you'll be blown away!  This challenge will be open till Tuesday, April 14th @ 9:00AM.

Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

Marcia this is the prettiest birthday card, I love the way the press plate steals the show and the foiled sentiment in the centre is fabulously placed! Lovely my friend!

Oh, my goodness, that's some very fine stenciling and it's absolutely gorgeous! I do see the shine quite nicely, and the sentiment is a stand out against the navy. You always use the colors so beautifully, Marcia!

OHHHH so beautiful, Marcia! I love this plate and it pairs well with the colors given, but you made it gorgeous! I can see some of the shine, but wish I could discern the speckled aura better -- it HAS to be beautiful!

What a beautiful floral background, Marcia! The colors you chose are enhanced by that gorgeous foil. (Yes, I can see it!) I love that cutout in the middle for the sentiment. For all the PFS products I have this is one I missed along the way. Wonderful card!!!

Marcia, so pretty. The time it must have taken to color ... so worth the outcome.

Anything foiled is already gorgeous in my book but then add the pretty stenciling in fuchsia and navy and you have a WOW card! I like that there's plenty of white in the background, which also plays off the inlaid navy sentiment piece. What a beautiful card, Marcia!
