This week's Make It Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink is A LA CARTE...meaning if you've missed one of the challenges during the past year, this is your opportunity to go back and play along. I managed to play along with every challenge except one last year, and that was Ashley's challenge with using photo's to make Christmas cards...since I never print any of my photo's anymore, I didn't have one to make a card with. Not a current photo anyways! After reviewing all the challenges, I decided to go back and play along with Dawn McVey's Sentiment Windows (#299) so that I could make use of a few things I haven't had a chance to play with yet. And what a great way to make another card to send to Dawn to encourage her on and let her know I'm still thinking of and praying for her!
I used the Window Works Dies and Farmer's Market Florals and came up with these 2 cards:
They are both the same except for the sentiments I used in the centers. I used a small strip of striped Blueberry Sky DSP at the bottom of the cards and then added a piece of Spring Rain cardstock that I used one of the Edger's dies on to create the scalloped edge. I loved using the little Window Works Dies to create my opening for the sentiments...they may be small but there sure is a lot of detail on them! I stamped and fussy cut the flowers from the Farmer's Market Floral stamp set and added them to the side of the die cut window. The 1st card's sentiment is from the New Every Morning stamp set, and the 2nd card's sentiment is from the Phrases & Praises stamp set. A few clear sequins and some heavy baker's twine finished off my cards.
There were a lot of great Make It Monday challenges this past year, so check them out right HERE and play along for a chance at a $25 gift certificate!
Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

These are both so lovely Marcia! I'm loving those die cut windows and wishing now, that I had added them to my cart. Always the enabling friend... Dawn will be thrilled to receive one of these lovelies. Who's day wouldn't be brightened by God's wonderful word! Glad you're feeling better.
What a bummer to be sick during the holidays! We couldn't find a day to celebrate with my brothers and father and all the 'kids' ..so January 19 is our big Italian feast and celebrating! I love your cards and putting the sentiment in the center is a great idea. Dawn will LOVE either of these cards!! Glad you are feeling better!!
Glad you are feeling better! Now, you have something to look forward to on the 20th! These are so lovely, Marcia! Love the color combo and your special touches!
Dawn will love her special card, Marcia. How thoughtful of you! And so good to hear you are all better. My entire family came down with bad colds, some still have it. Don't know why, but hubby and I escaped it. So glad cuz I'm my mom's care giver right now. The Farmer's Market Floral set is in my cart, haven't had time to place my order. Oh well, enjoying seeing everyone's projects with it, especially yours. Love the window with the psalm, so true! Hugs.
Two beautiful cards Marcia. Love the design and the sentiment window. I have just made a card with one of those, so we are on the same wavelength. Unfortunately, I don't have many large stamps, so had to do with a smaller one and fill the window with a flower. xx
I LOVE these, Marcia! That die has got to go on my wish list! Beautiful sentiments! I'm glad you are feeling better.
Gorgeous cards, Marcia! Don't you just love Window Works? Love the balance of patterns and florals!!
Beautiful cards Marcia! Love the pretty blossoms and fancy windows! Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh what lovely cards! I immediately added the windows to my wishlist over at PTI. These are really pretty.
So sorry to hear you were all sick these past couple of weeks. Who wants to go out and shovel like that - yuk! I'm glad you're on the mend. What an accomplishment to participate in all those MIMs! Your cards are so gorgeous, Marcia. In that shade of blue, they remind me of Wedgewood.
These are both wonderful. Love the sentiments peeking through. What a great technique that is. Hope all are better in your home. Glad to be a new follower. Happy New year!
Your cards are gorgeous, Marcia! I love the colors and pretty accents around the windows. Hope you are fully well soon and enjoy your belated celebration!
So pretty, Marcia and my favorite points are your color choices, papers and those great die cuts for the windows!
Marcia, both of your cards are just lovely. The edger die with the striped bottom is divine. Sorry to hear your family had the crud. DH and I have avoided it so far. Been busy with company and life so commenting has been almost nil. I need to get back into a routine. Happy New Year and thanks for being a faithful commenter!
