Double D - Hearts Challenge

Hello friends.  Playing with the gals over at the Double D where they are having a Hearts Challenge and my Valentine for my youngest granddaughter fit perfectly!

Isn't this such a sweet mood board?!!  Although the colors are all pretty much pastels, I went with the traditional reds and a little bit of pink and came up with this for my sweet Bella.

Aren't those little snuggle bunnies just so CUTE??!  This is an Anita Jeram set from CCC called Snuggle Bunny and although I think it was made for adult snuggle bunnies, my youngest granddaughter (she's 7 weeks old) just LOVES to be held and snuggled, and hey, it's a tough job, but somebody has to do it, right??!!  So anyway, back to my card!  I stamped and Copic colored my bunnies and then die cut them with the coordinating die.  My first background layer uses Honey Bee's Fluttering Hearts Pierced Cover Plate, and my 2nd layer that I stenciled is from Honey Bee's Hearts in Bloom stencil set.  My "hugs" die cut was an attempt to try another of PB's Jill Foster sketches where you die cut just the top portion of the die, but I goofed and cut the top half of the hugs off with my diagonal cut, so I had to do a little surgery!  I used a piece of vellum to cut the backer piece and I think it covered up my booboo pretty well!  The actual "hugs" was die cut 3 times with the top one having the packing tape placed over the Real Red cs first and then die cut.  LOVE how shiny it comes out!!

I used The Greetery's Nordic Hearts Dies with foam tape behind it so you can see the white scalloped heart from the stenciled background, and then added the snuggle bunnies with more foam tape to the heart.  I finished with a little sub-sentiment that came with the stamp set, and it's good to go for Bella's 1st Valentines Day card.

And here's my little snuggle bug.  She just melts my heart!!  You'd think after #5 I wouldn't be so giddy about another grandbaby, but she has my heart just like the other 4 that came before her!  God is so good!!

The DT over at the Double D has some beautiful inspiration if you're looking to finish up those last minute Valentines, so check them out and play along.  This challenge is open till Sunday, Feb. 16th @ 8:00PM.

Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

Your card is adorable and just perfect for your sweet little Bella! She is a darling and I can't think of a more perfect "snuggle bunny". It's so wonderful that the love continues make us giddy with joy with each addition of a grandchild. Yes, God is so good!

Your couple of snuggle bunnies are just perfect for your darling Bella, Marcia! I adore that little Nordic Heart and your new HB stencil! One of these days I'm going to remember that tape trick - so cool!
Hugs to Bella from her Auntie Michele!

Well, first I just have to say Bella is SO adorable! I would have to be careful not to squish her too hard with hugs. My Sophie is a rather big baby now, but I always tell her "I could squeeze the stuffin's out of you"! Your bunnies and sentiment are perfect for Bella's first Valentine. Good fix on the "hugs" as it sure looks perfect to me. I do love the packing tape gloss! What a pretty stencil, too. One of these days I'll have to start collecting the Anita Jeram stamps... after I catch up more with my current NBUS, sheesh! Always something! Marcia, thank you for playing along with us at Double D!

Okay... your card with those snuggle bunnies is adorable but baby Bella steals the spotlight tonight! I'm also smitten with her polka dotty blanket. You should add your pretty little card to our JUGs gallery!
