Double D Challenge - Springtime Flowers

Hello friends.  Playing along with the gals over at the Double D Challenge again where they have a beautiful mood board to inspire us.

I was inspired by the mood board, but also by DT Member Barbara who had the most beautiful card (HERE).  I just loved the addition of the Pussy Willows to the colorful Crocuses and the Market Basket...all of which I have in my stash!  I didn't want to completely copy Barbara, so I added tulips instead of crocuses.  Here's what I came up with...

I die cut my tulips using The Greetery's BotaniCuts: Tulips with white cardstock and then ink blended them with yellow, red, & coral inks.  I die cut my pussy willows (The Greetery - BotaniCuts: Pussy Willow) from kraft cs and then used white pigment ink for the little buds.

The Market Basket (also The Greetery) was die cut from silver matte cs and lined with printed wax paper (from a roll I've had for years that is supposed to make die cutting intricate details release from the die easier...not sure it really works, but I like the vintage look to the paper and keep it around for different projects.)My background panel was die cut with an oval die and then I used SSS's Floral Butterfly Bouquet embossing folder, and then attached to a white card base.

To finish this card I added a small two layer butterfly from Poppystamps Butterfly Buttons and then a bunch of glitter to the Pussy Willow buds and tulip leaves.  Thanks so much Barbara for the inspiration and helping me to use some dies that hadn't seen the light of day in quite awhile!!

The rest of the DT has some absolutely beautiful cards for inspiration too, and you can find them all right HERE.  This challenge is open till Sunday, May 4th @ 8:00PM.

Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

This is OMG FABULOUS! How fun that you were inspired by Barb's card (I agree ... a gorgeous creation) and even better that you had all the goodies to use to case her creation! Love that you switched up & used Tulips. Love your photo staging with the bunny ... perfect!!
Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Double D challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

Marcia! I just love it when the pussy willows are budding - outside and on your cards! This is so delightful! hey! do I spy a new embossing folder? I might like to play with that one, please!
I use that paper in my Cuttlebug all the time! It keeps my top plate from getting marked by the dies, too!

I loved Barb's card, too, and now I love yours as well! The Market Basket and pussy willows and embossing folder -- oh, my! Just a few of my favorite things, ahem. You wouldn't believe how many embossing folders I have still awaiting their first time use. Marcia, I'm sure happy to see your gorgeous spring card in our gallery at Double D!

Beautiful, Marcia, and such a compliment to Barb's beauty. Love the wire basket and those gorgeous tulips. And the pussy willows are simply the best filler in a Spring time bouquet. Your background embossing folder is pretty amazing too. Thanks for sharing with the Double D, "Springtime Flower" Challenge.

I love that these tulips won't fade out like the ones around here. They are prettiest at this stage and look so nice in the basket with the pussy willows! What a great spring card, Marcia!

It has been busy around here these days, Sorry that I am late to comment. I am so thrilled that I inspired you with this card. That is the ultimate compliment. We winter in Florida and now it is time to pack up and head north to Wisconsin. That means packing up the crafting supplies that I think I may need until October. Of course, I think I need it all. Your card is wonderful with tulips and I am pinning it.
