See how pretty paper snowflakes are?!! I started with a background piece and ink blended a few blue inks (SU!) onto a piece of white cs and then decided to turn the background into a Bokeh background using a very old stencil with lots of different size circles on it and white pigment ink. Next I used my SSS Snowflake Visions ef, cut it in half and saved the other half for another card sometime. I glued it down to my white card base and added 2 thin strips of Misty Moonlight and silver sparkle cs to separate the 2 sides of the card.
For my main snowflake image I used PFS's Radiating Snowflake stencil on a piece of Misty Moonlight cs along with Gina K's Sparkle Gel, and when dry used the coordinating die to cut the snowflake out. This is such an easy gel to use and the sparkle is incredible...even my photography skills can capture the sparkle!! I added it to the card with foam tape behind it for dimension and then finished with a sentiment from PTI's Winter Hills stamp set. And an iridescent gem for the center of the snowflake.
And card #2...
I had gotten this PTI LARGER THAN LIFE: SNOW die early last Fall and die cut a few in white and silver right away, and then it got set aside and never used...until now. I decided to make this a 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" card so that it would fit the snow die perfectly without any extra space on the sides. I used the same SSS Snowflake Visions ef for the top half of the card and then a piece of gray dsp (SU!) for the bottom half. Yep, the dsp was gray...
I used Boho Blue ink and a blender brush over the gray dsp and changed it into a blue dsp, and I love how it turned out. The tiny white stars are actually silver and it just looks so pretty with the Boho Blue snowflakes.
I added my silver sparkle SNOW die cut against the white embossed section, and then added a piece of Misty Moonlight ribbon to separate the embossed piece and the dsp. The "LET IT" part of the sentiment was embossed in white on a tiny strip of Misty Moonlight cs and then added with a piece of foam behind it to give it some dimension. I finished with a few PFS Iridescent Gems and called it good!

Talk about a treat, Marcia, to see not one but two gorgeous wintry cards! Your snowflakes are beautiful; your designs, eye-catching! You've created a duo of fabulous inspiration for this colour combination; thank you!
hugs~carol
I do love your snowflakes, Marcia and you really got creative with that dsp - wow, is that cool! Though now I am going to wonder about that second sentiment... do I have you to 'thank' for this lovely weather we're having? Ha!
=]
Two lovely wintery cards, Marcia! I would never have guessed that dsp paper was originally grade nor would I have thought to try to change its color--what a fantastic idea! I love the glittery die cut sentiment, too.
Two beautiful cards in the blue & white. I think my favorite is the 2nd one with the glittery Snow die and pretty backgrounds.
Forgot to say you could add these to our STB challenge to make your own snowflake background.
Two fab cards Marcia. Love the Bokeh effect you've created, gives that extra wintry feel. I love snowflakes too but the real stuff can stay where it's wanted, on the ski slopes!! :)
Beautiful blue cards Marcia. Love the coloring of the dsp. That was inspired.
These are the kind of snowflakes I can handle... pretty paper ones! Two wonderfully frosty card, Marcia!
Snow? I happen to LOVE snow! The bokeh is giving me all the chills, I haven't seen it used for awhile and I'm loving it. The textures, the fun and the fact that you turned gray into blue (I'll give you a call on our next gray day), it makes these both so awesome, Marcia!
So much sparkle, Marcia, and two beautiful snowy cards! The sparkly embossing paste works so beautifully for this big, beautiful snowflake! And the silver snow with it's own snowflake is beautiful! I love that you made the card a bit narrower to let the die cut fit end to end! Beautiful times two, my friend!
Wow, that is one gorgeous snowflake taking center stage on your first card, and I believe I bought that PTI SNOW die and haven't used it yet. Thanks for the reminder and snowy inspiration!
Two beautiful snowflake cards Marcia! Love the stenciled and embossed panel on the first with that lovely large blue snowflake and what a lovely mix of embossing and snowflake DP on the second card! Julia xx
Both of these cards are truly beautiful, Marcia! However, can I just say how cool it is that you infact changed the color of the DSP! WOW! You really are a gifted card maker! Your cards are always well thought out and superbly done! Have a great day and stay warm up there!
Your snow-filled cards are so gorgeous, Marcia. I love the first one with the bokeh background. I haven't used that technique for a while and I need to play with it again! Love how it pairs so well with your snowflakes! The second card is fabulous with you glittery SNOW die-cut. So clever to add blue to your patterned paper. Great work, my friend! xx
Both cards are gorgeous! I love the bokeh background and that pretty, glittery blue snowflake. The silver strip adds another nice touch of sparkle to the card. How brilliant on the second card to change the color of the patterned paper from grey to blue. You truly are a genius! Both cards are wintry fun!
Oh Marcia, these are both fabulous. I am so impressed by your color change on that dsp! That worked out beautifully! I also love that you pulled out the bokeh technique on your birthday card. Love the snowflake embossing over top of it! Both wonderful cards!
Yes! Two lovely cards.
Both cards are so beautiful, Marcia! The bokeh and that snowflake on the first one look amazing and the design would work perfectly for a gatefold card too. Love the snow sentiment on the second card. Your ink blending of the dsp was so smart and it looks gorgeous. Thanks for sharing two beauties, my friend!
You got very creative with your backgrounds, Marcia, making a bokeh one and coloring on DSP. Both turned out to be beautiful ways to show off the snowflake and snow die cut.
I do love a blue and white combo and you sure made it shine with these two cards, Marcia! Love that bokeh background with the embossed snowflakes and, of course, the big star of the show is looking magnificent! Love the sentiment. The inking of the DP on your second card worked brilliantly! Love the nighttime snowfall look of it, and that "snow" die is fabulous!
You always pay such close attention to the little details. I love the ink blended circles/embossed panel. Lovely cards!
Marcia these are beyond gorgeous. What a fabulous cards, the bokeh with the embossing is such a great creative addition! Love how the card is two parts and yet they work together so perfectly. Well done Eva's usual my friend! You are so talented!!
...I was so busy rattling on about your first card I didn't mention the second fabulous snowflake card. Brilliant how you changed the colour of your designer paper! Bravo!
