Hello friends. Been on kind of a Christmas (in July) kick lately and when I saw
Donna's "Polaroid" sketch over at
Freshly Made Sketches, I knew exactly what I wanted to do!
And here's what I came up with...
Doesn't she just make you want to smile?!! I fell in love with this PB set (
sing joy) a couple years ago and it has definitely become a staple in my go to Christmas stash! There are 3 separate images in the set and believe it or not, this is the first time I've used this image! (The other two images have seen ink many, many times!!) I colored her up with my Copics and gave her a bit of a vintage look with the colors and the ink blending around the edges. I used a polaroid frame die (MFT) to frame her out and stamped my sentiment in the lower portion of the frame (sentiment from the
sing joy stamp set).
I added foam tape to the back of the frame before insetting my image and added to an embossed panel using SU!'s Subtle ef and a strip of PTI's Ocean Tides polka dotted dsp. I added a little twine bow to the strip and called it good.
Lots of wonderful inspiration from
Donna and the DT for this sketch that you can find right
HERE. This challenge is open till
Monday, July 13th @ 3:00PM.
I will also be adding this card to
Darnell's NBUS Challenge as I've never used this 3rd image before and she definitely deserves a little bit of recognition!!
Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

Oh my gosh, what a cute image and such a sweet take on the sketch,
YES, she makes me smile! Looks like she's singing her little heart out! GOSH this is just adorable. Marcia!
Count my own smile among the others, Marcia! I adore this little gal - you just know she's singing with her entire soul!
I just love the polaroid pic you took of Donna's sketch - thanks so much for playing along!

I love how you used the sketch with this darling little elf girl! The colors are warmly festive, and that little bit of pattered paper and the twine bow dress it up beautifully for the season which is coming all too soon. I'd better get a move on! You're providing some fabulously cute inspiration!
Oh, Marcia, your little caroler brought a smile to my face this morning! (And thanks to you and Michele I hunted for the carolers but have yet to color them! ) The subtle embossed background is perfect and your coloring is amazing! Thanks so much for joining us at FMS this week!
This couldn't be more perfect for the challenge, Marcia. She is the cutest little elf, singing her heart out. Great coloring and the strip of design paper and bow are all this card needs to make it a darling show stopper.
She is perfect for this frame and this frame is perfect for Donna's sketch, Marcia! This makes me want to bring those elfettes out to play!
I love that set too, Marcia, and you colored her so beautifully that she almost shines as she sings her heart out.
She is Darling, and a perfect portrait inside the polaroid frame! Love your coloring, Marcia, right down to her sweet belly!
She definitely does, Marlinda, and your Copic coloring really brought her to life! I just love her gusto and that sweet little belly button!! This is a great take on the sketch! Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
So, so adorable! Love it!
Oh Marcia, I too fell in love with this set especially when you and Michele were using it frequently. I bought it and it is still waiting for me to use it. I so love this CAS design. I love the texture on the card base, I love your coloring and the lovely light inking behind this little singer, and I love that polka banner and the twine. Fabulous card!!!!!! Can you tell I love it?
I love Christmas cards. This is so cute. It's a great Penny Black set. I was gonig to get rid of my MFT die. I'm now going to get it out of the "destash/sale" box. Thank you. [Bunny]
