COLOR!!!

Good morning friends!  We have woken up to a blanket of white in my neck of the woods, and my dogs are overjoyed!  Our oldest dog Brinkley lies right down in it like he's been roasting for months and can finally cool down...what a goofball!  Anyway, on to cardmaking!  As much as I love making Christmas cards, I'm kinda tired of using red and green, and am more than ready to start using color again!  Yesterday I posted an all white card, and the card I'd like to share with you today is the same flowerpot card, but done in color (this was my mom's Mother's Day card this past year).  Take a look:

I won't go into all the detail of making this card, as you can look at yesterday's post for that.  When I made this, I was trying to match the colors to a flat of Impatients I had gotten my mom.  Most of the time I use SU's card stock, but I had trouble matching on this one and ended up using some different peaches and cream colors from my local scrapbboking store.  I did use SU's Always Artichoke for all the greenery.  And the flowerpot is a tan dotted swiss (local SS) sponged in SU's Soft Seude.

This is what the card looks like when you pull the top part up to see the message.  I did add a ribbon pull for my mom on the back and explained to her what she needed to do to open it, or she would have destroyed the card trying!

And here is the basket I made (PTI's basket die) to put a few of the flowers in to match the card.  Kind of hard to tell in the photo, but the basket is made with the same tan dotted swiss cs and then a dark green ribbon (Michael's) added around it.

Well that's all for today.  I have one more Christmas get together that I need to go get ready for, but I'll be back again tomorrow with some more color!  Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday and thanks so much for stopping by and sharing a part of your day with me...I LOVE it when you do! :0)

Really nice card, Marcia. I am venturing into 3'd floral cards and needed an idea for greenery for an aster/mum. I have the punches/dies you used for the greenery. Like the color combos you used for your card.
