I love the bleaching technique but it's been awhile since I've done it and my card did NOT turn out the way I had envisioned it in my head! My vision was to use a light green cardstock and then use the bleach to remove the green on the blossoms and then water color them a light pink like Cherry Blossoms. Only problem is that when you start with a light green cardstock, you don't end up with white once you add the bleach...grrrrrr! Nope, it turned a pale yellow! So after it dried I added some more bleach thinking it might take the yellow away...NOPE, it turned the yellow even brighter!! I was going to throw it away and start again, but the more I looked at it, the more I kinda liked it! Take a look...
I used PB's First Blush stamp and stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink and then heat embossed over it with clear embossing powder on Certainly Celery (SU!) cardstock. After both coats of bleach had dried (and I decided I liked it after all!) I used a couple Copics to color in the leaves and then fussy cut along the one edge so I could add it to a white card base. (The white card base was dry embossed with SU!'s Subtle embossing folder.) It still needed something to ground it so I added a thin black strip of cardstock to the left side of the card.
My sentiment is from SSS's Sketched Flowers which I stamped before embossing. I added a simple small yellow enamel dot to finish off my card.
There are so many BEAUTIFUL examples of bleaching from the DT that you can check out right HERE and then play along. This challenge is open till the 24th.
Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

Well it mightn't have turned out how it looked in your head Marcia, but it has still turned out beautifully! Lovely card.
What a fabulous card, your bleaching turned out so nicely...glad you stuck with it.
I had the same problem too, Marcia. When I used bleach with green cardstock, it turned bright yellow! I'm glad you didn't throw away yours. This looks so beautiful! The light green and the yellow match very well. Partially fussy-cutting the image to make a panel is a clever idea. The black strip gives the card oomph.
I'm so happy to see your card in the CMU gallery. Thank you! Hideko xx
I think it looks amazing!! It really looks like you coloured it ... You bleached away to perfection! Thanks so much for sharing at CAS Mix Up... Be safe
This is so pretty Marcia! I love how the flowers turned yellow. I thought you had colored them onto the green cardstock and wondered how you got them to come out so perfectly. The simple yellow dot over the sentiment is perfectly placed. This is beautiful my friend.
Yellow is your favorite color, right? Seems it was your 'density' as Tom would say with a grin! I love every yellow blooming thing about it!

Im learnning that you never know what color will turn up when you bleach colored cardstock, Marcia! I love the yellow flowers and the way you've cut around them and added the black strip! It may not be what you aiming for, but it sure works fine!
Beautiful card Marcia! I love these happy, yellow blossoms! So pretty with the green background. I really like the way you cut around your image and have the textured white background. Fabulous card my friend! xx
I love your soft yellow cherry blossoms, Marcia ... they're dainty and delicate ... and look gorgeous with the fresh green against the texture-y white! Isn't it wonderful when a card turns out to be just gorgeous ... even when it's different than originally planned! Stay safe ... hugs, Anita :)
This is terrific Marcia! I've never tried the bleach technique. Might need to give it a go!
I think it's fun to see what color comes through when you bleach cardstock. The yellow flowers are a pleasant surprise and look lovely, Marcia. My bleach on green came out a lighter version of the paper.
Such a soft, light beauty Marcia. Such an interesting outcome, love this.
Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx
