I used an Altenew set called Painted Poppy and came up with this card:
I started by embossing the outline image with Versafine black ink and clear embossing powder...for me this technique helps keep the water color more inside the lines. Then I used my MISTI and stamped the two layering images with Gina K's Red Velvet and Cherry Red inks and then spritzed with water before stamping each layer. I also used my Aqua Painter to move the color around a bit to give the more loose look of water coloring. I did the same for the leaf and the bud and then fussy cut my images out.
Before mounting my Poppy to the card front, I added a piece of white cardstock that I had die cut with a die from AliExpress to give some dimension and visual interest to the background. My sentiment comes from PTI's Winter Woods stamp set.
Check out what the rest of the DT came up with and also our Special GD, and then play along with us right HERE. We can't wait to see our gallery filled with lots of POPPIES!!
Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

What a beautiful poppy, Marcia! When I saw this I thought you must have got the die that goes with this stamp. I'm amazed that you fussy cut it! That stem is so delicate that you must have a surgeon's hands! Love how it looks over the white on white die cut! Gorgeous card, my friend!
This is beautifully done Marcia! I like that pretty poppy surrounded by all of that crisp white!
This is gorgeous Marcia! I LOVE the white-on-white patterned background with the partial die-cutting. So elegant. Your poppies are beautiful! You fussy-cut them?? Amazing!! Those stems must have been a challenge. Great work! xx
A really lovely crisp CAS card Marcia, love your die cut background lifting the poppy and giving lots of depth
Lovely, Marcia ... the sketchy, loose look of the poppy is fabulous against the crisp, graphic background ... yum! Hugs, Anita :)
So classy! Love the background and the beautiful poppy.
Love the artsy look to the stamped poppy and how striking it looks against the crisp white. The die cut in the white adds great texture too, to your beautiful card x.
Loved your die cut background for your beautifully watercolored poppy, Marcia. Adding your sentiment was the perfect final touch. TFS my friend. Hugs.Nancy

Your poppy is beautiful and I love how you added interest with the die cut behind it, so pretty.
What a pretty die cut out behind your lovely red poppy Marcia! xx
Oh this is beautiful! I love the Die cut behind your poppy and the poppy itself is beautifully done... That's a hard one to fussy cut too!
The die cut adds wonderful texture, Marcia, and those inks are a great red color. Lovely card with one of my favorite flowers.
The background die was a great touch Marcia, it highlights your lovely poppy perfectly.
This is lovely and your coloring brought this to life. I love the background.
Love that die cut background xx
