The Twofer Challenge #27 - FLOWERS

Hello friends.  Hope you are all hanging in there and are ready for a new challenge at The Twofer Challenge where this month it's all about FLOWERS!

After all that's been going on in our world AND a looooong Winter (for some of us!), I think we're all ready for some COLOR and what better way to show it than using FLOWERS!  Here's what I came up with for my two cards using MFT's Bring Out the Sunshine stamp set:

I made a birthday and hello card using the basket of flowers that came in this sweet little MFT set.

My green and yellow colors for this card came from the nursery rhyme "A Tisket, A Tasket" ( a green and yellow basket) and I so badly wanted to put that on the front of my card for the sentiment, but then I couldn't figure out how to finish the inside of the card for an occasion, so it just ended up being a birthday card.   Anyway, I started with a die cut panel using Lawn Fawn's Quilted Backdrop, and then used MFT's Rectangle Peek - A - Boo Window die to cut out a space for my basket and birdie.  The sentiment is from PTI's Meadow Greens stamp set and die cut with SU!'s oval dies.

This sweet girl with the hat (and matching flowers) was the reason I bought this stamp set...she is just adorable and I love her holding the basket of brightly colored posies!  I did not buy the dies for this set (grrrrr!!) so I had to do some fussy cutting of both the girl and the basket, and then also had to use my exacto knife to cut around her arm so I could slip the basket handle underneath to make it look like she was holding it.  I used my Copics to color her and her basket and then placed her on a background that I clear embossed and blended using a Catherine Pooler background stamp (Sketch Plaid).  Here's a closer up so you can see the background a bit better...

I finished this card with a die cut "hello" also from Catherine Pooler and layered with a thin black layer and attached to a white card base.

So there you have it...a birthday card and a hello card both using the same basket of flowers but in different designs and for different occasions.  We'd love to see YOU in the gallery with 2 different FLOWER cards, so check out the inspiration from the rest of the DT and then play along with us right HERE.  This challenge is open till the 24th

Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

Marcia, what a lovely basket of flowers and it works so nicely both as the centerpiece of your Birthday card and on the arm of that sweet lil gal. Both cards are summery and uplifiting...something we could all use about now.

That quilted card with the darling bird and basket are so sweet, Marcia. Too late now but you could have put the "A Tisket, A Tasket" on the front with "I'm sending you a basket - of flowers for your birthday" on the inside. Your little girl is a cutie and I'm glad you put her on that wonderful background. I'm trying to do more of that.

Oh my, Marcia, both of your cards are just so adorable! I love your green and yellow, and the idea of going with that rhyme (it's also Packer colors, which of course should be everyone's favorite, ahem). Oh just kidding! That darling girl is colored so beautifully and your surgical skills are masterful! I love how she nestles into the hello die cut so well! Hugs to you, my dear friend, and happy Mother's Day!

Sweet card Marcia! I LOVE your little basket full of bright and happy flowers. Adorable with the little birdie sitting on top and the lovely criss-cross die-cut design. Awesome! Oh, your little girl is darling! She is so cute, no wonder you had to have her. Great work fussy cutting both her and the basket and great job slipping the basket under her hand. Little details make all the difference. And gorgeous plaid stamped background. Two amazing card, my friend! xx

She really is darling, Marcia! (I like that she has an entire face!) This is a perfect example of what I had in mind for the Twofer concept. You took a look at your stamps in a whole new light when you chose your flowers prompt and then you came up with two distinctly different designs for that little flower basket you chose! Excellent!!

I love that quilted background with the peek-a-boo aperture to showcase the pretty green and yellow basket and flowers on your birthday card! And note to self about that great embossed background on your sweet hello card! Great fussy-cutting and scalping by the way! Take care and keep safe! Happy Mother's Day! Hugs, Darnell

p.s. I saw Bobby's sweet rhyme. Mine is more of a, ahem, dark sense of humor in light of our times. It might not be for everyone. Ready?

A tisket A tasket
A green and yellow basket
I'm glad you're here to celebrate
And not in a birthday casket.😊

Great twofer with that sweet basket of flowers, Marcia! Reminds me of May Day :) Love the quilted background on card one and your fussy cutting looks amazing on card two - who needs the dies, right?

Two gorgeous cards here Marcia! I love the little girl carrying the basket and love the plaid background you placed her on too with your perfect embossing and ink blending. The first card is gorgeous too - brilliant idea to use the basket as the focal point. I remember that nursery rhyme well - my baby daughter loved those funny sounds and at 24, she still likes funny words! The cover die is so impressive and I like that you teamed it with the peakaboo die. You always make every detail count - like the little bird and the matching yellow heart on the sentiment. Hope your long winter is coming to an end now! Vicky x

On the basket card, I love that die. On the other card that subtle pattern of the embossed plaid is so sweet and delicate and looks fabulous with your little girl image.
