I used a brand new 3D embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp called Forest Border and some Victorian Lace Distress Oxide ink to come up with this card...
I have to admit that this is almost a complete CASE of a card Jennifer McGuire did, and I just changed up the background color and placement of the sentiment...her card was so beautiful and I just couldn't bear to change it up much! I started by inking up with a blending brush the inside of the embossing folder (the flat side...NOT the raised side) with Victorian Lace Distress Oxide ink. I used a large Altenew blending brush that is flat and that makes it pretty easy to gently rub the ink along the flat side of the embossing folder. Once I ran it through my machine I was left with the beautiful impression of the trees in white and the background in a very light pink. You can't see it in the photo, but at this point I sprayed it with Sheer Shimmer Sparkle Spritz, so it really sparkles big time IRL!
I used some silver holographic cardstock to die cut my JOY (SSS - Chunky JOY) and a mat, and then used SSS Tiny Words Christmas that I stamped and heat embossed in white on a strip of black cardstock (Hope this qualifies for the "stamp" part of both challenges?!). Everything was attached to a white card base.

I hadn't been too impressed with that embossing folder...until I saw what you did with it! WOW! What a gorgeous Christmas card!
That is a truly amazing embossing folder and you have made it look even more amazing with your inking. A wonderful card xx
Beautifully put together Marcia. love your choices.
I don't care whose idea it was [we used to do it with the ink pad, remember?] Marcia, you made it all your own using this gorgeous pink!
I now know what we can trade for those pine boughs, lol... oh maybe I should try this technique with THAT!
So pretty, my friend!

I love the interest the holographic paper brings without distracting from the gorgeous embossing! Incredible card Marcia!
Beautiful card, Marcia - your little sentiment strip is so perfectly stamped/embossed that it looked like the printed ones from SSS that you can cut apart and use (that's what lazy people like me do...)
Absolutely gorgeous!!! That's a lovely embossing folder and I realiy really love how you coloured it
Love your pink embossed layer and the shiny holographic paper for your die cut. Beautiful card Marcia.
This is so lovely! Great embossing!
Thanks for playing at Christmas Kickstart and Let's Squash It, Marcia, your card is a total delight! Love how you've added that soft pink - looks fab, Jo x
This is stunning Marcia! What a wonderful embossing folder!!! How did you get the background color so perfectly filled in? I've tried adding ink to my ef and get a splotchy look. No splotchyness here! haha! What a lovely card!
I'm so glad You used that ef. You always make things shine, and it is so beautiful in pink and white. It's sold out, so I missed it, wouldn't you know. Love the touches of gold too. So elegant!
Crisp and clean image from your inked EF, Marcia! LOVE the soft pink with the white trees --- gorgeous! And lovely framing to add some shine. xx
What a stunner, Marcia ... soft and serene with a lovely touch of frostiness in your colour choices (and of course in the shimmer!). Beautiful! Hugs, Anita :)
Ohhhh this is stunning Marcia. You may have 'cased' it but you have made it your own. Great technique and absolutely beautiful. I love it x.
