I started by using Ken Oliver's Fuchsia Color Burst powder and water, and when dry, die cut all the pieces to make a full container of the Geraniums. I just love the speckles and variations in the color you get from using these powders! Here's a closer up...
I love too how you can make the flowers dimensional with the extra petals and the way the die cuts some of the petals in the main piece so you can lift them up! The leaves and the pot were die cut on white cardstock and then colored with a sponge dauber and DOX inks. The background was smooshed with some Salty Ocean distress ink and water, and when dry, die cut using The Greetery's Deco Frame Dies. I attached everything to a top folding white card base, and then decided to leave a sentiment off the card and leave as is.
My 2nd card uses Altenew's Fantasy Floral Die which I've had for forever and never used...another oops!! Take a look...
The flower consists of 3 die cut pieces, and the middle layer is from a piece of cardstock that I had used Merlot Color Burst on, and the top and bottom die cut pieces are from SU!'s Rose Red cardstock.
The leaves were cut from a scrap of cardstock that I had used Ponderosa Pine Lindy's Magicals on, and it's so hard to capture on camera, but the mica flakes in this powder are SO shimmery and pretty, and really makes these leaves stand out!
There is also gold in the leaves, so to compliment them, I used gold mirror cardstock for my die cut sentiment (SSS - With Sympathy) and also a layer of the gold mirror cardstock behind my white layer that I also used Spellbinders Hemstitch Die on. I love how CAS and yet elegant this card turned out!
So there you have my two Flower Challenge cards that didn't make it into the challenge on time! Hopefully I get back into the swing of things a little more quickly next time! There were some absolutely BEAUTIFUL cards using dies from the DT and in the gallery that you should take a look at if you're looking for inspiration right HERE.
Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

Too bad you missed the challenge, but glad you posted the cards! Both are beautiful! Wonderful colours and fabulous dimension!
I love that you made them for us, just the same, Marcia! and those speckled Geraniums are just absolutely fabulous! That layered rose has long been a favorite, too. xx

Beautiful cards. Sorry you missed the deadline but glad you shared them anyway.
Oh, too bad, Marcia, cuz they are both winners for sure! Love the inspiration, so thank you for sharing. I just love how the powders colored your germaymiums to look so real and the rose with the gorgeous leaves is just divine. (You can always share at NBUS since it's n-b-u.) Hugs, Darnell
These are both gorgeous, Marcia! Too bad you missed out on the challenge, but they are definitely winners nonetheless. That potted geranium has me wishing I'd bought that die. Gorgeous makes my friend!
Well shucks to being late, but I'm happy you're sharing them with us anyway because they're fabulous! Those speckled geranium petals are so pretty. I have the Altenew die too and don't use it often enough. Love what you've done with it, The color of the bloom is so regal!
What a beautiful geranium, Marcia! I love the color and all the dimension! The rose is amazing with the speckled petals and solid! Love how elegant the gold makes this! As for Glimmer, you will find that every time you try it, it gets easier and you get better results. There is a definite learning curve. You & Michele need to come here!
I'm so sad that you missed the deadline, Marcia, because those geraniums are fanstastic. Yes, the Color Bursts do add a great mottled effect to the petals which gives them an authentic look. The other card is beautiful too.
Two gorgeous florals, Marcia! If you see this comment early enough, I'd love to see you add your geranium card to our Die Cut Diva watercolor challenge!

Two gorgeous flower cards Marcia! LOVE the pot of geraniums. The colour of the blooms is so pretty and summery. And the texture from the added blooms makes this an extraspecial card. LOVE IT! Your second card is amazing with the colours you've used. Love the deep red accents on the die-cut flower. Beautiful design with your dotty border lined with gold. xx
Fantastic cards... I wouldn't know how to pick one. Loving the pot of realistic geraniums, but then you have such an elegant rose.. ooooh
WOW the geraniums look amaizng....so dimensional and yes the powders look fabulous x. What a gentle and perfect sympathy card, with the prettiest of rose and the gold accents are perfect. Two very beautiful cards Marcia x. Sorry you missed the deadline but so glad you shared them.
Sorry too for the late commenting but I have been away at a family wedding and it was so good catching up with them (at last) and I enjoyed the hugging too! x.
