CAS Watercolour April 2019 Reminder - Poppies

Hello friends.  Just a friendly reminder that you have till the 24th to play along with our current challenge over at CAS Watercolour.  Loll is our hostess this month and she would like to see Poppies on your CAS Watercolour card.

I used an older Rubbernecker red rubber stamp (4 Red Poppies) to come up with this:

I used my MISTI and colored directly onto the stamp with with a combination of SU! and Tombow markers and then spritzed with water to give the water colored look.  I also used an Aqua Painter to move the color around a bit and to add the black to the centers of the flowers.  I used a PB die (Stitched Square & Circles) to cut out my image, and then sponged the edges with Tea Dye DI before mounting to white & black layers and a white card base.  I used SSS's Tiny Words to emboss my sentiment onto a black strip and used foam tape to mount it to my card.

I also have a twofer for you today because I have quite a few Poppy stamps and I just wanted to play!  I used an older PTI stamp set called Daydreamer and was inspired by this BEAUTIFUL photo from Marybeth HERE to come up with this card:

I used the same technique as my first card along with some masking to make my little field of orange Poppies and then stamped a sentiment from PTI's Mum's The Word.  I also used PTI's Pierced Feature Frames to die cut and stack 4 frames to surround my Poppy layer.

The DT has some FABULOUS inspiration for you, so check it out and then play along with us right HERE.  Remember to keep your card CAS, use WATER COLORING, and post your card in our gallery by the 24th...we can't wait to see what YOU come up with!

Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

Such an artsy first card with wonderful water colouring and such a fabulous image of the poppies. Your second card looks so striking with the orange and such a modern looking card. You have spoilt us today with these two fabulous and beautiful cards x.

What a treat to have not one, but two gorgeous poppy cards, Marcia! Love the rich red of the first and the die cut circle within the square. And the orange poppies are worthy of Marybeth's photo. Beautiful cards, my friend!

A pair of pretty cards Marcia! I like the eyelet looking circle on the fist one. But those orange blooms and fancy frame win the prize today!

Love your four red poppies card, Marcia. The colours of the poppies is so rich and dramatic. So pretty with the die-cut circle with border. Your second card is so sweet! It really does look like MaryBeth's photo!! Two fantastic poppy cards! xx

They're both so pretty Marcia! The red poppies are so vibrant but I'm especially loving the orange ones. I have that set and haven't used it in a very long time. What a beautiful reminder to give love to our older sets. They're timeless images and what you've done with them is beautiful!

Two fabulous poppy cards! Love your Design Team one with those gorgeous rich red poppies - might be an older stamp but it's a great one. Also love the way you did the black centres, black sentiment, and black border to tie it all together. The orange poppies in the second card look just like my California poppies that I grow in my hot dry flower bed at the back of my garden - love them and love your card.

Those red poppies are so soft and dreamy, Marcia ... and so pretty with the lacy edged die cut! What a gorgeous field of California poppies ... rich, warm and so summery ... and beautifully framed! Hugs, Anita :)

Poppies are one of my favorite flowers and your two cards show them off beautifully, Marcia. I love the die cut circle inked around the edge on the first card and the wonderful thick frame on the second one.
