I used the stencils and 4 shades of blue inks to blend the floral images in the house shape, and then stamped the outline image before die cutting the house image. I used the hot foil plate they included in the kit to dry emboss my white background, and then added a blue layer and attached all to a white card base. The sentiment was cut from MB's Posh Script Big Hugs Die from glittery silver cardstock. The silver is much brighter IRL! Also added a few silver pearls to finish off this card.
My 2nd card came out a bit different than I was picturing in my head. I was picturing a gingerbread house in my mind, and used all 5 stencils to blend the design on in white pigment ink first. Once it dried, I went back in again with the 5 stencils and added colors that I thought would look like gumdrop colors (like when you make a gingerbread house), but instead it ended up looking more Spring like to me! Hard to tell in the photo, but I did spray Sheer Shimmer Gold Mist over the card, so it really has a nice shimmer to it in real life! I used the die to make a side folding card, and love that it's a shaped card. The thank you was heat embossed in white on kraft and die cut...this was all part of the kit too! A few sequins finished off this one.
As soon as I saw this set, I knew I wanted to make a Christmas card with the house shape, so I did my stenciling with a couple shades of green and red on kraft, and like the 2nd card, die cut it so it was a side folding shaped card. I also foiled my sentiment (PFS but not part of the kit) and added a few gold pearls to finish it off.
That's it from me today, but make sure you check out Birgit's post to see what she did using these same stencils, stamp set, and dies! I know she will blow you away with her creations!! Thanks for playing along with me Birgit...just like old times!! :0)
Each card is just as beautiful as can be Marcia! I love the one in blue tones as it makes me think of my mom. Her favorite colors was blue and she had a lot of blue delft in her house. The gingerbread card is stunning and I never saw a gingerbread house in that die, but I do now! Your colors came out brilliant and it was so clever of you to stencil in white first to make the colors pop. The colors on your Christmas card are rich and beautiful. All three cards blow me away, just as I knew you would with this post. I'm so glad we "played cards" together today, just like old times. Thanks for inspiring me even further. Love & hugs~
Oh, I'm so happy that the two of you played cards! It's better in real life, but still such a fun surprise on post day, right?
LOve your shaped cards, Marcia - but embossing that card stock is such a great 'extra' bit of fun to have with those dies!
Three gorgeous cards! You saved my favorite for last!
How fun to have another play date. Your shaped cards are such fun, the first blue and white reminded me of my mom, she had a few delft pieces she loved. The two toned stenciling on your last card is nice and dramatic. A wonderful set of three...time well spent.
What creative and fabulous 'house' cards and great to craft 'virtually' with a friend x. Wonderful stencilling and love the glamor of the foiling Marcia x.
What an awesome variety of sweet little houses, Marcia! I love how you used the glimmer plate to emboss the background and all that blue and white on the first card! The second card does look like Spring and so pretty! Love the festive look of the Christmas card with the gold sentiment! Three awesome cards, my friend!
How fun that you and Birgit took the classes together and then put your heads together to share more with all of us! This is fabulous times three! They're all darling, but the last one is my favorite!
Oh I so love how pretty it is with the kraft background
Beautiful cards! Love the shades of blue on the first! The second one makes me think of folk art - a great look on the kraft. And the third is fabulous in the traditional Christmas colours.
Three terrific cards, Marcia. Making shaped cards was a bonus with that die set and the variety of colors you used changed the feeling of each card. What a fun time to take the class with Birgit and then have this play day together.
Houses!! I love houses and I just adore these cards.. You are soooo amazing
Oh my gosh! All three houses are beautiful, Marcia. It's amazing how just changing the colours you've used, makes them look so completely different. LOVE IT! xx
