CAS Watercolour Nov. 2018 - Christmas Florals & Greenery

Hello friends.  Welcome back to another challenge here at CAS Watercolour, where this month Susan is hosting our challenge and would like to see Christmas Florals & Greenery on your cards. (NO tree's please...we've already done tree's!)

So many options to choose for this challenge as I'm a bit obsessed about making Christmas cards and have LOTS to choose from, but in the end I went with a new Penny Black stamp (well new to me!) called berry speckled.

Now I realize there's no flowers on this card, but at this time of year I think just simple greenery and berries is SO BEAUTIFUL that it qualifies as a flower!!  I put the stamp in my MISTI and used a combination of distress and SU! markers to ink up the stamp and then misted very lightly before stamping on my water color cardstock.  I repeated this process till I had the depth of color I was happy with, and this time actually remembered to do the berries last so that my red didn't run all over the place!

Here's a closer up shot so you can see the detail better.  I also used a stamp from Penny Blacks Yuletide Wishes to stamp my sentiment, and then matted my card with a layer of Old Olive cs and adhered to a white card base.  CAS and I love the way this one turned out!!

There is lot's of BEAUTIFUL inspiration from the DT and our special guest Maura, so check it all out right HERE and then play along with us...we'd LOVE to see you in the gallery!

Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

Gorgeous card Marcia! Beautiful Christmas greenery and berries. So smart to leave the red to the end. I tend to forget that until it's too late ... you know what I mean! :) I love this pretty image and now need to go shopping! :) xx

Gosh, Marcia, this is beautiful ... there's so much depth and dimension to your fabulous inking and stamping ... and I do love that wonderful (and so true!) sentiment! Apologies for not being around much ... two more colds on top of the Lake House one have seriously impacted my visits and comments. Still, I'm back now ... and what a gorgeous card to come back to! Hugs, Anita :)

What a beautiful Christmas greenery and berries card, Marcia! Love the pretty watercolor-look stamping and the layout (you stamped the image at an angle and overlapped the sentiment)! Thanks for the tip about stamping berries at the last.
