Just For Fun Part II

Hello friends.  Just another fun post to show you what I've been working on from watching Gina K videos on Monday and Wednesday nights, from ZOOMing with a few of my local Stampin' Up friends, and from using some new products from The Greetery (you may have already seen these if you follow me on IG).  I'm one of those who hasn't ventured out yet, so yes, I do have plenty of time to stamp!  :0)

This card came from watching one of Gina K's videos where you use a dark piece of cardstock, a blending brush, and old eye shadow makeup, and then stamp your images with Versamark ink.  Such a FUN technique!!

My sweet friend Birgit said EVERYTHING looks good in a Mason jar, so I thought why not pinwheels?!!

These pinwheels from The Greetery are addicting and sure make for FUN cards!!  :0)

Another of Gina's fun videos where she blends using a circle mask and then stamps using silhouette images.  I took to this technique like a duck to water...as you can see from the following photos!

I make a lot of my cards for a program called Smiles For Seniors (cards for nursing home residents), and since I had so much fun ink blending with silhouettes, I did a little assembly line stamping and quickly made 8 more cards to add to my seniors box.

From one of my ZOOM nights where we did a Mystery Card...we were given the dimensions for cardstock and dsp to have ready before we met and then were given directions the night of to make the actual card.  A little hard when you don't see the actual card ahead of time, so there's a lot of "winging it", but it was still fun!!

This was another ZOOM meeting project where you take a piece of white cs cut at 10 1/2" x 8" and then score lightly down the middle of both the 10 1/2" side and the 8" side.  Then you start stamping in the center and go around in a circle...almost like you're creating a wreath.  Then you cut on your score lines to come up with 4 card fronts that you attach to card bases.  It looked like a hot mess before I cut it into fourths, but I actually like how it turned out once finished!  Here's a link if you're interested in watching the video on how to do this: Split 4 Stamping

This card came about from another Gina K video where you used colored pencils on kraft cardstock.  I've never been a fan of using colored pencils until I started watching Gina's videos...she LOVES using them and now I have to admit that I'm enjoying coloring with them too, and I really like the look on kraft cs also!!

Two more blended cards (told you I was hooked!!!) using warm colors rather than the bright colors of the previous cards.

YAY...you made it through my whole post!!  Thanks for sticking with me through it all!!  A little side note here:  have any of you tried using the new blogger yet?  I tried to do this post using it, and ended up having to revert to the legacy format as it was putting my photos in places I didn't want them and no option (that I could find) to remove them so I could try again.  I'm not sure I like all the symbols instead of the actual words either...just seemed to make everything harder (for me) than easier!  I guess I really am getting old...if it's not broke, don't fix it!  Anyway, just my 2 cents worth!!

Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

Marcia...such a fabulous collection of beautiful cards. You were defintely on a roll. The inkblended cards are my favorite, I've been playing a bit with that too though not silhouettes...lots of masking. YOur panel that was stamped and then cut I love that stamp set, just aquired it my self this month. Such fun imgages and the sentiments are so delicate and pretty. I tried the new blogger earlier this month and it took me hours to get a post done...it took forever just to find out how to start a new page. UGH. I went back after two posts to the old. Just hope I get to keep it. Hugs.

A great collection of cards. Love them all. Your ink blended cards are so pretty with the silhouette images. I have yet to try this but I enjoyed Gina's video. Thanks for sharing all these lovely cards.
I am with you on the new blogger. "If it ain't broken, don't fix it." ")

You have had so much fun with your time, Marcia … all really beautiful, but I'm so intrigued by the stamp-once cut-into-four-panels idea! Such a great technique, and your stamping is beyond beautiful!
Okay, so I haven't tried it, and am so not ready for Blogger to make me do it!

You have made me want to do some sponging, Marcia! But my sponging doesn't look anywhere near as smooth as yours. We'll see. I'm intrigued with the 4 cards done on one sheet. I definitely want to try that. Your Zoom meetings and Gina's videos are keeping you busy doing beautiful work, my friend!

Girl, wow, you have blown me away from start to finish with this post and all your really incredible works of art! Every time I made a mental note as I was reading to tell you in my comment that one of them was my favorite, I would scroll to another favorite, lol! I think, while I love them all, the circle blended/silhouette cards are spectacular, as is the 4-in-1 card idea. I will be checking out that video. As for Blogger, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I had the exact same experience as you and Cat. Very tedious, time-consuming, frustrating, and much less intuitive than the way it was. I understand these software folks need job security, but this change is ridiculous. Oh, was that out loud? Take care and keep the inspiration coming! With everyone's mojo at a low-energy level, it's a joy to see someone being this creative! Hugs, Darnell

Oh my goodness Marcia, these are all amazing!! You HAVE been one busy girl! I love them all and couldn't possibly pick a favorite, though the pinwheels do look good in that mason jar. ;0) I finally watched one of Gina K's live videos I think on Tuesday. Perfect timing as she did a vintage style project. haha! Guess it was meant to be. Anyway, I love all your cards. You'll be well stocked once we finally get through this crazy time.

I forgot to say that I didn't even know there was a new blogger system. haha! Leave it to me to be in the dark. I haven't ventured out from under my rock either.

Oh my, what a wonderful collection, Marcia ... you're being awesomely creative! Each card is fantastic ... and I ooh'd and ahhh'd all the way through! My favourites are those beautifully blended circles of colour with the silhouette stamping ... and those Split 4 florals with the lovely sentiments that are an absolute delight! Thanks for the link, watching may just kickstart my mojo! Sorry, can't comment on blogger issues as I'm a wordpress girl ... though it does seem a retrograde step! Hugs, Anita :)

OMG...Fabulous cards and techniques and amazing creative inspiring post, Marcia!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I think the blended circles, pencil coloring on kraft paper and 4 cards out of one sheet were my favorites. I already tried the pencil coloring on Strathmore Mixed Media paper and loved the results (have not posted..yet). I think the other 2 techniques would be great for multiple Christmas card designs...see...you have me inspired, my very talented friend:-) Stay safe and Creative, Love and Hugs..Nancy

Hi Marcia, I've come visiting from Loll's blog after she referred to your Split 4 cards and oh wow you've been having so much fun.... a wonderful array of techniques and cards, all of them fabulous and your '4' are fantastic.. what a great idea - definitely on my to do list. As for the new blogger gggrrr I'm not enjoying it either and for some reason mine keeps swapping between the old and new.. it's all good to change things but they never think of us older ladies. Have a great day and hugs, stay safe Robyn

I'm glad you're having fun and keeping your creativity flowing, Marcia. I'm also glad that you send out the cards you make, even if it is through a program because I know those seniors will be delighted. Those silhouette cards are fantastic. I only wish I had that many silhouette stamps that I could make cards with.
