Color Hues #82 - Turquoise & Green

Hello friends.  A new month and a new challenge at Color Hues and for the next two weeks our hostess Tracey would like to see TURQUOISE and GREEN on our cards.  Sounds like SPRING to me!!

I had found a piece of cs that I had used Lindy's Magicals on in Tibetan Poppy Teal and Ponderosa Pine Olive in the package that my Jumbo Curiosity Dragonfly Die (The Greetery) was in, so it was an easy choice to die cut it out since the colors were exactly what I needed for this challenge!  Here's what I came up with...

For my background I did some smooshing with a piece of acetate and Turquoise Sea and Lucky Clover inks (Gina K), and then when dry added the Script (retired SU! background stamp) over the top with Delicata Silver Shimmer ink.  I used an oval die on my top panel and then ran it through my machine with SU!'s Subtle embossing folder, before adding foam strips to the back and adding to my card base.

This close up shows the shimmer a bit better of the Magicals on the dragonfly and the silver Delicata ink in the background.  I added a few PFS Iridescent Clear Gems and a silver foiled sentiment to finish off this CAS card.

We have lots of beautiful inspiration to share with you from the DT and our Special GD Tenia using these colors, so check it all out right HERE and then play along with us...we'd love to see YOU in the gallery!  This challenge is open till Thursday, March 14th @ 9:00AM.

Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

You already know how much I adore your little 'hitchhiker' right? I'm still amazed by the delicata silver ink - I might need a new one, or a reinker?
SO very beautiful, Marcia!

This is so softly pretty in the colors Marcia! A wonderful Smooshed background with the shimmery text. The subtle embossed panel die cut with the oval is beautiful raised up over the background and how nice to use a previously made background with the Magicals for that jumbo dragonfly! And guess what - I FINALLY tried out my Glimmer foiling machine and have actually made some sentiments and backgrounds with it! It's only been a year of so since I purchased it! Thanks for your encouragement to play with it!) Julia xx

What a fortunate find -- an already made panel in your amazing colors, and the dragonfly is right at home in the colors. Very pretty!

What a lucky find in your stash Marcia, looks so pretty in the colours. We wont be seeing any real ones for sometime around here! I too have been playing with my Glimmer, producing a stack of sentiments to use, even used the waste to create another set too! :)

This is an all-time favorite color combo. Marcia, I gasp at the beauty of your card. The Lindy's, the dragonfly, script, everything works together so divinely. The whole is a lovely clean look, but there is a lot of detail in the making. I love it!

I love Lindy's Magical Powders and you've shown how truly wonderful they are with your beautiful dragonfly wings. What a stunning card design, Marcia, I am swooning over it! When I saw your card, I thought the script stamp might be that retired SU one. It's a beauty and looks so pretty in the silver ink.
Gorgeous card, my friend!

Marcia, oh my goodness I love seeing what you do with every card! This is so gorgeous, the lovely background you smooshed with acetate and the lovely script set the scene for your darling dragonfly that (once again) I may need to get. I love it all! xo

WOW--definitely a favorite card! Absolutely love everything about it--not the least being your use of 2 Magicals I own! Really adore the background and need to remember to use my Delicata silver like you did! Pinning this one!

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia! I've used the Jumbo Dragonfly on my card, too, and that's because I recently found a bunch that were already cut and colored. I love your smooshed background--perfect for your handsome critter.
